Tracing the origin and development of human medicine, from the exploration of eternal life to the recognition of the end of human death, from simply saving “life” to focusing on healing “heart”,until the history of civilization continues through thousands of years, the pure humanistic view of life in the face of malignant tumor patients bursts out a unique medical thinking and wisdom of life and death. From simply saving “life”to focusing on the“heart”of healing, the purely humanistic view of life has burst out a unique medical thinking and wisdom of life and death when facing malignant tumor patients, adding bricks to pave the road of humane treatment with humanistic care and palliative care. From the implementation and development of palliative care in home or community to the establishment of special treatment centers for palliative care, the process of promoting palliative care services for malignant tumors is not only driven by medical technology, but also a powerful demonstration of the effectiveness of medical ethics from the foundation to sublimation. While some foreign countries have been effective in palliative care to alleviate the pain of malignant tumor patients and reconstruct the value of patients’ lives, the implementation process of palliative care for localized malignant tumor patients in China has been controversial due to the specificity of its treatment method, and various bioethical dilemmas have been increasingly highlighted. Therefore,in order to build a palliative care service model that meets the national conditions and rationalize the application of palliative care to the malignant tumor patient population in China,it is urgent to propose specific countermeasures to address the bioethical dilemmas presented in the process of its implementation. The main structure of the article is divided into five parts. The first part introduces the background of the selected topic, the purpose and significance of the study,a review of domestic and international studies, and the research methods and innovations of the article. The second part elaborates the theories related to palliative care for patients with malignant tumors, including the connotation and characteristics of palliative care, the origin and development status of palliative care and the ethical value of palliative care for patients with malignant tumors.By introducing the sacred and long history of the development of palliative care, the steady exploration and progress of localization of palliative care in China are elicited, and the core features of palliative care are deeply analyzed, namely, palliative care focuses on the patient’s experience of the disease rather than the disease itself. It also analyzes the transformation of malignant tumor patients to achieve the care model from cure to care in order to enhance the understanding and awareness of palliative care and its practical value in a holistic and objective manner. The third part focuses on the analysis and discussion of the localized dilemmas of palliative care for malignant tumor patients in China, namely, the dilemma of patients’ right to life and dignity of death, the dilemma of patients’ multidimensional spiritual needs and traditional concepts, the dilemma of patients’ autonomy and family autonomy, and the dilemma of patients’ “benefit” and “harm”,and the main causes of these dilemmas.Through systematic analysis of the rationalized concept of death, humanized service content, comprehensive social participation model in some foreign countries, the fourth part explores the concepts and mechanisms suitable for introduction and development in China, and provides new ideas and good methods for solving the ethical dilemma of palliative care for malignant tumor patients in China. The fifth part combines the four ethical principles of palliative care for malignant tumor patients, and points out and elaborates the “remedies” for the localization and development of palliative care for malignant tumor patients in China,so as to promote palliative care to better serve the malignant tumor patient population in China and to promote the progress and development of humanistic medicine in China.
