BackgroundHigher requirements for the professional quality of new nurses is put forward in the Development Plan of National Nursing Career(2021-2025).Nursing students are the reserve army of nurses.During the internship,the job involvement level will not only affect the choice of future employment,but also affect the improvement of their nursing skills.Based on the work demand-resource theoretical model,role stress is a consuming work demand,and vocational delay of gratification is a positive psychological resource.Exploring the relationship among role stress,vocational delay of gratification and job involvement of nursing students will help hospital managers to take effective measures to improve the job involvement level of nursing students,promote high-quality and efficient clinical practice,cultivate new nurses with high quality and skills and alleviate the drain of nursing talents.ObjectivesTo understand the current status of role stress,vocational delay of gratification and job involvement of student nurse in the preliminary,middle and later stages,explore the relationship between the three,and provide relevant basis for improving the job involvement of practice nursing students and the quality of nursing practice teaching..MethodsNursing students who are undergoing clinical practice in medical colleges and universities such as Zhengzhou University,Xinxiang Medical University,Nanyang Medical College,Henan Vocational College of Nursing were selected as the research objects by the method of convenience sampling.They were investigated with the general situation questionnaire,the role stress scale,the scale of vocational delay of gratification,and the job involvement scale at the preliminary,middle,and later stages of the internship.Finally,790 samples were determined.SPSS26.0 and AMOS23.0 software were used to make statistics of data.Pearson correlation analysis was used to research on the correlation among the three.AMOS23.0 software was used to establish structural equation for model validation and analysis..Results1.The total scores of the job involvement scale of the student nurse in the preliminary,middle and later stages of the internship are(52.74±15.98),(52.04±17.70)and(49.89±20.08)respectively,the average scores of the items are(3.52±1.07),(3.47±1.18)and(3.33±1.34)respectively.The total scores of the role stress scale of the student nurse in the preliminary,middle and later stages of the internship are(62.25±18.79),(61.57±19.49)and(61.28±20.99)respectively,the average scores of the items are(2.71±0.82),(2.68±0.85)and(2.66±0.91)respectively.The total scores of the vocational delay of gratification scale of the student nurse in the preliminary,middle and later stages of the internship are(29.06±5.78),(28.87±6.56)and(27.98±8.08)respectively,the average scores of the items are(3.63±0.72),(3.61±0.82)and(3.50±1.01)respectively.Compared with the scores of role stress,vocational delay of gratification and job involvement of nursing students in the preliminary,middle and later stages of the internship,the scores difference of vocational delay of gratification and job involvement in the three stages are statistically significant(P<0.01),the scores difference of role stress among nursing students are not statistically significant(P>0.05).2.Pearson correlation analysis showed that role stress was positively correlated with vocational delay of gratification(r=0.172,P<0.01);vocational delay of gratification was positively correlated with job involvement(r=0.740,P<0.01);role stress was negatively correlated with job involvement(r=-0.081,P<0.05)in the preliminary stage of the internship.Role stress was positively correlated with vocational delay of gratification(r=0.113,P<0.01);vocational delay of gratification was positively correlated with job involvement(r=0.743,P<0.01);role stress was negatively correlated with job involvement(r=-0.122,P<0.01).Role stress was negatively correlated with vocational delay of gratification(r=-0.122,P<0.01);vocational delay of gratification was positively correlated with job involvement(r=0.761,P<0.01).Role stress was negatively correlated with job involvement in the later stage of the internship(r=-0.278,P<0.01).3.The intermediary effect analysis of vocational delay of gratification shows that vocational delay of gratification covers the role stress and job involvement of internship nursing students in the preliminary and middle stages of the internship;vocational delay of gratification plays partial intermediary role between role stress and job involvement of internship nursing students in the later stage of the internship and the intermediary effect accounts for 32.37%.Conclusions1.The role stress of internship nursing students during internship is low;the level of vocational delay of gratification is high;job involvement is at a medium level and needs to be improved.2.Vocational delay of gratification and job involvement level of nursing students decreased gradually in the preliminary,middle and later stages.3.In the preliminary and middle stage of the internship,role stress has a positive impact on vocational delay of gratification.The vocational delay of gratification can reduce the negative impact of role stress on job involvement.Appropriate pressure can improve the level of vocational delay of gratification and promote job involvement.In the later stage of internship,role stress has a negative impact on vocational delay of gratification.Role stress reduces the level of vocational delay of gratification,thus reducing job involvement.The negative effect of role stress on job involvement was more severe than that in the preliminary and middle stages.
