| Objective: To understand the sleep quality of young-and middle-aged hospitalized patients with hypertension, and to explore the influence of sociodemographic characteristics, living and behavioral habits,hypertension-related characteristics and comorbidities, and psychological status on sleep quality of young-and middle-aged hospitalized patients with hypertension, and to further determine factors affecting sleep quality among young-and middle-aged hospitalized patients with hypertension. Methods: Using a cross-sectional study design, eligible young-and middle-aged hospitalized patients with hypertension who were admitted to the Cardiology Department of a tertiary hospital in Changsha City,Hunan Province from June 2020 to June 2021 were continuously selected.Information on sociodemographic characteristics, living and behavioral habits,hypertension-related characteristics and comorbidities were collected by issuing self-administered questionnaires. The Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI),Zung’s Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),and Zung’s Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS)were used to evaluate the sleep quality, anxiety, and depression of the subjects.Chi-square test was used to compare the difference of enumeration data between sleep disorder group and non-sleep disorder group,Pearson correlation was used to analyze the correlation between anxiety, depression and sleep quality, and unconditional multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to determine factors affecting sleep quality among young-and middle-aged hospitalized patients with hypertension.Results:(1)A total of 672 questionnaires were distributed in this study,616 valid questionnaires were recovered, and the pass rate was91.7%(616/672).The mean age of the 616 subjects was 46.73±12.15 years,370(58.4%)were male,555(90.1%)were Han,105(17.0%)had junior high school education and below, and 566(91.9%)had spouses,126(20.5%)with average monthly household income ≤ 3,000 yuan,461(74.8%)with working status,44(7.1%)living alone, and 122(19.8%)with new farming close,250(40.6%)were overweight or obese.(2)According to the criterion for the existence of sleep disorders of PSQI>7 points, among the 616 research subjects,296 had sleep disorders, and the positive rate of sleep disorders was 48.1%(292/616).(3)Pearson correlation analysis showed that the PSQI scale score and SAS scale score(r=0.455,P<0.001),PSQI scale score and SDS scale score(r=0.387,P<0.001),SAS scale score and SDS scale score(r=0.789,P<0.001)were all positively correlated.(4)Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that physical exercise(OR=0.52,95%CI: 0.31-0.78,P=0.001)and nap habit(OR=0.70,95%CI: 0.52-0.89,P=0.013)were protective factors of sleep quality among young-and middle-aged hospitalized patients with hypertension,female(OR=1.41,95%CI: 1.13-3.69,P=0.023),hypertension grade II(OR=1.43,95%CI: 1.19-5.12,P =0.035)and grade III(OR=2.12,95%CI:1.67-7.15,P<0.001),number of comorbidities 2-3(OR=1.53,95%CI:1.12-4.53,P=0.021)and ≥ 4(OR=2.23,95%CI: 1.57-7.55,P<0.001),anxiety(OR=2.65,95%CI: 1.52-6.77,P<0.001),depression(OR=1.42,95%CI: 1.09-2.88,P=0.002)was a risk factor for sleep quality among young-and middle-aged hospitalized patients with hypertension.Conclusions:(1)The positive rate of sleep disorder among young-and middle-aged hospitalized patients with hypertension in the Cardiology Department was 48.1%.(2)Physical exercise and nap habits are associated with sleep disorders among young-and middle-aged hospitalized patients with hypertension;female, high blood pressure grades,a large number of co-morbidities,anxiety and depression are also associated with sleep disorders among young-and middle-aged hospitalized patients with hypertension in the Cardiology Department. |
