| Objective: To compare the effect of kinesio tape and static stretching on the intervention effect of iliotibial band syndrome,to understand the therapeutic effect of kinesio tape and static stretching on iliotibial band syndrome,to study the effect of kinesio tape and static stretching on the pain of patients with iliotibial band syndrome, the overall function of the lower limb, the balance ability of the affected lower limb and the thickness of iliotibial tract at the lateral condyle of the femur, and to explore which of the two can better relieve pain, improve the overall function of the lower limb and the dynamic balance ability of the affected side, and reduce the thickness of the iliotibial band. Methods: 48 participants were randomly assigned to a control group(acupuncture +massage),a kinesio taping group(acupuncture + massage + kinesio tape),a stretching group(acupuncture + massage + static stretching),and a combined group(acupuncture +massage + kinesio tape + static stretching),with 12 participants in each group. Each group received treatment for 4 weeks,3 times a week, and about 45 minutes each time. All participants are not restricted in their daily activities and training, but try to avoid highintensity exercise.Data collection of evaluation indicators was conducted before and 4weeks after the intervention.Participants pain levels were evaluated using the Visual Analogue Scale/Score(VAS),the Lower Extremity Functional Scale(LEFS),the Ybalance test(YBT),and the thickness of the iliotibial band at the lateral femoral condyle was evaluated using the Philips portable color Doppler ultrasound diagnostic instrument CX50.SPSS 26.0 was used to statistically analyze and process the data obtained.Results:(1)In terms of VAS value indicators, the VAS value of subjects in each group decreased after intervention. The difference in VAS values between the conventional group and the combined group was statistically significant(adjusted P=0.037).There was no significant difference between the other groups.(2)In terms of LEFS indicators, the LEFS scores of subjects in each group increased after intervention. The difference in LEFS scores between the conventional group and the drafting group was statistically significant(adjusted P=0.013).There was no statistically significant difference between the other groups.(3)On the index of balance ability on the affected side: After intervention, the balance ability and stability of the affected side of the subjects in each group were improved, among which the difference between the stretching group and the combination group in the anterior pushing distance and the conventional group was statistically significant(P<0.001,P<0.001),and the difference between the combined group in the posterior medial pushing distance and the conventional group was statistically significant. There was no significant difference between the other groups.(4)In terms of the thickness of the iliotibial tract, the thickness of the iliotibial band at the lateral femoral condyle of each group of subjects decreased after the intervention, and there was no significant difference between the groups. Conclusion: Kinesio tape combined with static stretching can effectively alleviate pain and partially improve the dynamic balance ability of the affected side in patients with ITBS,but it cannot significantly improve the thickness of the iliotibial tract at the lateral femoral condyle. The therapeutic effect of Kinesio tape, static stretching combined with acupuncture and massage was not better than that of acupuncture and massage alone. |
