The aging of their population,a primary factor in determining social and economic growth,is a problem that all nations around the world face.Whether it is Japan as a developed country or China as a developing country, the situation of population aging is grim. The ever-growing elderly population has made elderly care an essential social concern. The aging population of China is rapidly increasing, leading to a lack of progress in the social security system for the elderly. This has caused a number of issues, such as providing for the elderly,to gain greater attention.Japan, which experienced an aging society 30 years earlier than China, has formed a relatively complete nursing education system for the elderly in the field of vocational education after years of development.Standardization of nursing and welfare professionals’ training in the realm of old-age care has been achieved, and the size of the old-age care industry has been continually broadened.Nevertheless, there are still many deficiencies in the Chinese nursing training for the elderly: a lack of education,a disconnect between nursing instruction and social requirements;and a lack of practice in the cultivation process. Therefore, this study attempts to explore the practical orientation of nursing well-being personnel training at four-year universities in Japan, including training objectives, training courses, teaching implementation, evaluation and its role in promoting employment,so as to provide some reference for improving the training quality of higher vocational nursing education and establishing a high-quality nursing education system in China. The main problem studied in this thesis is how to develop the practice-oriented training of nursing practitioners in four-year universities in Japan.Firstly,it combs the development and evolution of the education of Japanese nurses and welfare workers. The professional development, training content and training path of nurses and welfare workers are constantly developing and changing according to the needs of social development.Secondly, this paper takes Tokyo University of Social Welfare as an example, adopts BTEC vocational education mode, and explains in detail the practice-oriented training of nursing students at Tokyo University of Social Welfare from four aspects: training objectives, training courses, teaching implementation and process evaluation. The training objectives include the general ability and professional ability needed by the nursing staff based on practical orientation and the national qualification certificate of nursing staff;Training courses include curriculum development and curriculum structure setting based on practice orientation;Teaching implementation includes teaching ideas and methods based on practice orientation;Teaching evaluation adopts the process evaluation based on practice orientation, and analyzes the teaching process, teaching methods, students’ emotional attitudes and values. Finally, based on the practical orientation, the effect analysis of the cultivation of caring for well-being people in Japan is settled. This paper, based on Dewey’s pragmatic education theory, examines the training of nursing and welfare practitioners under the practice orientation, which is evidenced by three components:Obtaining the national qualification certificate of nursing and welfare practitioners;Enhancing students’ aptitude and intensifying job competitiveness;and the education of cooperation between industry and university in the training process of nursing and welfare professionals has been continuously developed and improved.
