| Objective: This project is a clinical study to observe the changes in the efficacy scale and BMD T-Score related to the treatment of senile osteoporosis patients with spleen kidney yang deficiency and Qi stagnation and Blood stasis type by Bugu prescription, and to evaluate its efficacy according to the results,so as to provide a reference basis for the treatment selection of senile osteoporosis. Methods: Sixty patients who met the criteria of this clinical study and attended the inpatient and outpatient departments of the Department of Geriatrics of Gansu Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine between January and December 2022 were selected and randomly divided into two groups: the control group was treated with basic therapy+exercise therapy, and the treatment group was treated with Bugu prescription on the basis of the control group, with 4 weeks as a course of treatment and a total of 12 weeks of observation. Before and after the treatment,we observed and recorded the changes of patients’ VAS score,ODI index,TCM evidence score and safety index, tested the index of bone density T-Score,observed the adverse reactions during the treatment period, and compared and analyzed the data of the two groups,so as to evaluate the clinical efficacy.Results:1.Comparison of general information before treatment: the differences in gender, age, and body mass index(BMI)between the two groups before treatment were not statistically significant(P>0.05)and were comparable.2.Comparison of the scores of each scale: the differences were statistically significant between the two groups by comparing VAS scores,ODI index and TCM syndrome scores(P<0.05);meanwhile,the improvement in the treatment group was significantly greater than that in the control group(P<0.05).It indicates that Bugu prescription can effectively improve clinical symptoms such as low back pain, related TCM symptoms and quality of life in senile osteoporosis patients with spleen kidney yang deficiency and Qi stagnation and Blood stasis type.3.Comparison of efficacy: After 12 weeks of treatment, the BMD T-Score of both groups increased compared with those before treatment, with statistical differences(P<0.05);the BMD T-Score of the treatment group improved significantly compared with those of the control group, and the comparison between groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).The total clinical efficacy of the treatment group was 97%,which was higher than the total efficacy of the control group of 80%,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).It indicates that the treatment group(Bugu prescription+basic treatment+exercise treatment)has better efficacy.4.Adverse effects: No adverse events occurred in both groups during the treatment, suggesting that the Bugu prescription is safe and reliable for clinical application in the treatment of senile osteoporosis. Conclusion: Bugu prescription combined with western medicine treatment can effectively improve the clinical efficacy of senile osteoporosis patients with spleen kidney yang deficiency and Qi stagnation and Blood stasis type, not only significantly improving clinical symptoms such as low back pain, related TCM symptoms and quality of life, but also regulating bone metabolism level without significant toxic side effects, which is worthy of clinical application and promotion. |
