| Comparing with the magnificent symphonies,the string quartet is a very popular composition in the chamber music,with its lack of many voices and huge acoustics,but with a uniform timbre,a balanced volume ratio,and a reduced form.In the classical era of Europe,the string quartet entered the most prosperous period of development,and then slowly faded out of the stage of history.In the Soviet Union in the 20th century,the string quartet was revived by a composer,Dmitri Shostakovich.Shostakovich’s string quartet combines elements of classical music,traditional Russian and Jewish music,and uses many of the 20th century’s new techniques and textures.This article will analyze,discuss,summarize,and understand the style of the Dmitri Shostakovich string quartet.This paper consists of five chapters.In the first chapter,"The individual influence factor of music",I will start with the definition of music style and its influence factors,and figure out what are the important events in Dmitri Shostakovich’s life and growth in terms of its historical background,local ethnic style,and personal experience and personality,from a macro perspective.In the second chapter,"the string quartet system," I will look at the patterns of tonality,the structure of the forms,and the use and development of the old Russian modes in his works,analyzing the characteristics and styles of his string quartet in tonality.In the third chapter,"the using of Jewish elements",I mainly discusses the development of Jewish Melody,the characteristics of rhythm and the tonal characteristics of Jewish music,which are used in the Dmitri Shostakovich string quartet,and combined with examples of spectrum analysis in the actual use of the effect is what kind of shape and how to embody.In fourth chapter,"the technique of motivation and Polyphony",we discuss the formation,the use and extension of the motivation of the "DSCH" signature,and the polyphony of the string quartet signature,the characteristics of the eighth string quartet with the combination of signature motive and fugue.In fifth chapter,"Symphonic texture",I will compare the texture of the classical string quartet with that of the Dmitri Shostakovich’s string quartet,and explain how the string quartet symphonization is embodied,what kind of effect did it embody.The conclusion will be a brief summary of the foregoing,and the experience of this period of time to make a brief statement. |
