Objective:To explore the influence of family function on problem behavior(including internalized problem behavior, externalized problem behavior)of junior middle school students, and the mediating role of alienation and the moderating role of school connection. Methods:Using convenient sampling,760 junior high school students volunteer to fill out the family intimacy and adaptability scale, scale in alienation scale, school connection and adolescent self rating scale, through the description statistics, independent sample t-test,Pearson product-moment correlation analysis, the mediation effect methods of inspection and adjustment effect of data for statistical analysis.Results:(1)There were significant differences in family function(F =3.132,P < 0.05),sense of alienation(F =4.839,P < 0.001),school connection and problem behavior(F=5.393,5.593,P < 0.01)among junior middle school students of different grades.(2)There were significant differences in school bonding and internalizing problem behavior among students of different genders(t =3.747,-2.605,P < 0.01).(3)There was a significant negative correlation between family function and adolescents’ sense of alienation, internalized problem behavior, externalized problem behavior(r =-0.52,-0.37,-0.44,P <0.01),and a significant positive correlation between family function and school connection(r =0.56,P <0.01).Alienation was positively correlated with internalized and externalized problem behavior(r =0.58,0.41,P <0.01),and negatively correlated with school connection(r =-0.33,P <0.01).School connection was negatively correlated with internalized and externalized problem behavior(r =-0.32,-0.36,P <0.01).(4)Alienation plays a mediating role in the relationship between family function and externalizing and internalizing problem behaviors of junior high school students.(5)School connection moderated the relationship between family function and alienation, between alienation and internalization of problem behavior, and between family function and externalization of problem behavior.Conclusion:(1)The high level of family function and school connection can reduce the sense of alienation and reduce the problem behavior of junior high school students.(2)The level of family function can directly affect the problem behavior of adolescents, and can also indirectly affect the problem behavior of adolescents by affecting the level of alienation.(3)School connection can regulate the effect of family function on alienation. The higher the school connection level of junior middle school students, the lower the alienation level will be.School connection moderated the effect of alienation on internalized problem behavior, and high school connection reduced the negative effect of alienation on internalized problem behavior.School connection can regulate the influence of family function on externalizing problem behavior. The higher the level of school connection, the less externalizing problem behavior of junior high school students.
