Research On The Expression Of Emotion In Character Documentary

People have emotions.Human-centered documentaries should also be endowed with deep feelings and thoughts.Character documentary can objectively show people’s life experience through the lens,reveal people’s true emotions,stimulate the audience’s resonance,and arouse people’s thinking about the social environment.In this paper,the author’s graduation work "Wandering in Zhengzhou" as the research object,based on the emotional expression of the character documentary,focusing on the specific practice of emotional expression in the work.Firstly,based on the definition of documentary,character documentary,emotion and emotional expression,this paper expounds the significance of emotional expression in character documentary from three aspects: connecting story structure,arousing audience resonance and displaying artistic aesthetics.Then it analyzes the three elements that constitute the emotional expression of Wandering in Zhengzhou,which are the subjective emotion of the creator,the personal emotion of the subject and the emotional needs of the audience.Finally,this paper focuses on the emotional expression means of Wandering in Zhengzhou from four perspectives of lens language,sound language,music and story narration,that is,using lens language to show emotion,using sound language to express emotion,using music to render emotional atmosphere and using story narration to trigger emotional resonance.
