Xi Jinping’s Important Discussion On Chinese Excellent Traditional Culture

Chinese excellent traditional culture is a spiritual wealth formed after more than 5000 years of development.Since the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core attaches great importance to the inheritance and application of Chinese excellent traditional culture,delivered a series of speeches around the excellent traditional Chinese culture,made a series of important instructions,and formed Xi’s important discussion on the excellent traditional Chinese culture.This article uses the methods of literature analysis and comparative research to study Xi Jinping’s important exposition on Chinese excellent traditional culture.On the basis of carefully combing the relevant literature,this article defines and explains the relevant concepts,and expounds the era background and theoretical origin of this important discussion in detail.In theory,it inherits and develops the cultural theory of classical Marxist writers,refines and absorbs the ideological essence of Chinese excellent traditional culture,inherits and applies the cultural theory of previous leaders of the Communist Party of China,and makes an updated and more systematic interpretation in combination with the new situation of the current world,national conditions and party conditions.Through the induction and generalization of Xi Jinping’s new thoughts and new judgments on the excellent traditional Chinese culture,the main contents of his important discussion are summarized into four aspects: the historical status,core thought,era value and inheritance of the excellent traditional Chinese culture.General Secretary Xi Jinping regards the excellent Chinese traditional culture as the cultural gene of the Chinese nation,the deepest cultural soft power and the common spiritual wealth of mankind,and points out that the core essence of the excellent Chinese traditional culture is "to preach benevolence and love,to emphasise the people’s principles,to abide by honesty and integrity,to uphold justice,to promote harmony and to seek common ground",which is considered to be of great value in nurturing the core values of socialism.It can provide ideas for the innovation of the Party and State’s diplomatic philosophy and provide a strong spiritual pillar for the realisation of the Chinese dream.In regard to the excellent Chinese traditional culture,it is necessary to adhere to the principle of "dual creation" and the method of "two combinations".This important statement has a rich and extensive connotation,a profound and long-term meaning,and is characterised by the combination of history and reality,inheritance and innovation,theory and practice,and nationality and worldliness.It provides ideological values and practical guidance for enriching the achievements of Marxist cultural theory,enhancing the cultural self-awareness and confidence of the Chinese nation,strengthening the moral construction of citizens based on cultural people,advancing the construction of a strong socialist cultural state,and promoting the excellent Chinese traditional culture to the world.
