The Han Dynasty occupies an important position in Chinese history,during which it was politically stable,economically developed and culturally prosperous.Tomb research is one of the basic contents of archaeological research in the Han Dynasty,and pottery is one of the largest artifacts excavated in Han tombs,which is an important object of archaeological research.The Sanmenxia area was located between the two capitals in the Han Dynasty and had a very important geographical location.This paper selects pottery excavated from Han Dynasty tombs in Sanmenxia area as research objects to conduct in-depth analysis and research on the social culture of the Han Dynasty.Firstly,the historical evolution and related concepts of Sanmenxia area are summarized,the archaeological findings of Han tombs in Sanmenxia area and the research results of predecessors are sorted out,the research objects,research objectives and research significance are determined,and research ideas and research methods are designed.Secondly,the typical pottery excavated from the Han tombs in Sanmenxia area is divided into six groups,which correspond to the early Western Han Dynasty,the middle Western Han Dynasty,the late Western Han Dynasty,the Xinmang to the early Eastern Han Dynasty,the middle Eastern Han Dynasty,and the late Eastern Han Dynasty.Again,the pottery combinations and placements of various periods in the Sanmenxia area are summarized.Living pottery is often placed on the side of the burial chamber,enlisting the kitchen space of the tomb owner underground;Founding vessel pottery first appeared in Xinmang to the early Eastern Han Dynasty,popular throughout the Eastern Han Dynasty,often placed in front of the coffin or in the front room,and ear cups,spoons and other utensils were often placed on the case;Symbolizes the sacrificial space;Architectural pottery mainly plays the role of model ware,often placed in the front and back corners of the tomb or on both sides and mouths of the tomb,symbolizing the property and wealth owned by the tomb owner in the ground,and is a symbol of the wealth and status of the tomb owner.Finally,the Sanmenxia area is compared with the typical pottery,pottery combinations,and placement positions in the Liangjing area.Through comparative research,it was found that the cultural outlook of the Sanmenxia area in the early Western Han Dynasty was close to that of the Xi’an area;The Middle Western Han Dynasty was influenced by the two equally and maintained its own characteristics;In the late Western Han Dynasty,the cultural outlook was closer to the Xi’an area,and the far Luoyang area;During the period from Xinmang to the Eastern Han Dynasty,the cultural outlook began to approach the Luoyang area and the far Xi’an area;In the middle of the Eastern Han Dynasty,the cultural outlook was almost completely close to the Luoyang area and the far Xi’an area;In the late Eastern Han Dynasty,the cultural landscape did not see the influence of the Xi’an region.
