The English Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022edition)clearly points out that "writing" in language skills is the clearest and most intuitive way to test students’ comprehensive language application ability in English subjects.Therefore,we should attach importance to writing teaching in English teaching.However,there are still many problems in writing teaching in English teaching.In order to enhance students’ writing ability,teachers should improve writing teaching and pay attention to students’ learning process.Taking Z Primary School in Yangzhou as an example,this study investigated the implementation of writing teaching by teachers and the current situation of students’ writing learning through questionnaire survey,classroom observation and teacher interview and analyzed the data.It found that teachers lack correct writing teaching concepts and students lack writing ideas,writing methods and writing interest in English writing.Based on this,the author started two rounds of writing teaching action research,mainly with "mind mapping method" and "hamburger writing method",to construct teaching design and evaluation strategies of topic writing based on students’ daily life experience and common interpersonal communication topics.At first,the comparative experiment method was adopted in two parallel classes,respectively,using the "mind mapping method" and"hamburger writing method".It was found that both teaching methods can improve the performance to some extent,but there are also shortcomings.Therefore,the second practice was carried out,and the teaching design of "mind mapping+hamburger writing method" with the advantages of both was created.The writingteaching practice was carried out in four parallel classes.According them,teachers haveimproved their writing teaching ability and students’ writing ability has also been improved.According to the actual needs of students,we should carry out writing teaching as early as possible and introduce scientific teaching methods into teaching.
