Chen Qigang’s Composition Technique Study Of "Luan Tan" Variations For Orchestra

The work " Luan Tan " is a variation for orchestra composed by composer Chen Qigang in 2015.It is one of Chen Qigang’s recent works and a "breakthrough experiment" in his own personal style.For the first time,the composer tries to break away from his usual soothing and profound style,and pursues a rhythmic and passionate melody in " Luan Tan ",creating a dynamic and vibrant music style.In this article,we analyze the characteristics of the compositional technique of " Luan Tan" in terms of its overall structure,thematic material,harmonic arrangement,and orchestration,and summarize them.In terms of material development," Luan Tan " uses a single material for development,and the short motivic material undergoes constant variation,repeating and changing in different registers,timbres and rhythms.This article is divided into five chapters.The first chapter gives an overview of Chen Qigang’s life and music composition;the second chapter analyzes the overall structure of the work,the variation patterns and relationships,and the overall analysis of the entire work;the third chapter analyzes the thematic material and its key and tonality;the fourth chapter analyzes the harmonic structure of the entire work;the fifth chapter analyzes the orchestra arrangement and orchestration.The fifth chapter analyzes this work in terms of orchestration.
