The Chinese ancient prose collection has a long history,concentrated in the Song Dynasty,and emerged in endlessly in the Ming and Qing dynasties,with a large number.In the development history of Chinese ancient prose collection,the Ming Dynasty was a critical period connecting the past and the next.During this period,the Chinese ancient prose collection flourished and the number was extremely large.The academic circle’s attention and research on them urgently need to be strengthened.Based on this,this paper takes as the research object the anthologies of diachronous ancient prose that have the widest selection range and can best reflect the development history of ancient prose in the eyes of Ming people,and investigate their compilation,so as to further understand the development of anthologies of ancient prose in the Ming Dynasty.The thesis is divided into three chapters.The first chapter examines the general situation of the compilation of these Chinese ancient prose collection,and specifically analyzes their compilation background,compilation intention and the way of classification and arrangement.The emergence of a large number of Chinese ancient prose collection in the Ming Dynasty is inseparable from the background of the development and growth of the book publishing industry.The publication and circulation of anthologies of ancient prose in the Song Dynasty in the Ming Dynasty also affected the compilation of anthologies of ancient prose in the Ming Dynasty.Their purpose of compiling the Chinese ancient prose collection is mainly to guide the imperial examination,moral education and aesthetic appreciation,and the specific classification and arrangement methods include classification by era,classification by style,classification by category,etc.The second chapter discusses the cognition and understanding of the ancient prose shown in the compilation process of the Ming people.The first is to examine the category of "ancient prose" as understood by the Ming people through the compilation of the anthology of ancient prose.Secondly,the Ming people also showed a very strong sense of reverence for the classics in the discussion of the concept of ancient prose.Finally,the Ming people also consciously used prefaces and postscripts,general examples and other peritexts to summarize the development laws of literature in the past dynasties,evaluate the pros and cons of literature in different eras,and express their thinking and opinions on literary history.The third chapter takes Shi Ji as a case to discuss how it,as a historical work,entered into the anthology of ancient prose in the field of literature.It mainly discusses the specific selection and collection of the chapters of Shi Ji by the editors from the anthology of ancient prose in the Song Dynasty to the anthology of ancient prose in the Ming Dynasty,and the processing strategies adopted by the editors for the chapter form and category arrangement.
