Eithical Dilemmas Of Human Gene Editing Technology From The Perspective Of Confucian Ethics

Human Ethical issues such as safety,human integrity and social injustice caused by human gene editing technology in the field of life science have caused impacts and challenges to the established traditional ethical concepts and order of human beings,and the traditional concept of stability is bound to be shaken,and may also undergo revolutionary changes.Any kind of traditional morality is in danger of falling apart.Compared with traditional moral concepts,the ethical problems caused by contemporary life science and technology are not only novel,but also bound to cause social psychological panic and anxiety.Considering the possibility,reality and necessity of traditional Confucian ethics in modern times.The ethical problems of human gene editing technology are analyzed with Confucian ethical thoughts and the corresponding ethical countermeasures are put forward.On the basis of a comprehensive analysis of the ethical dilemma of human gene editing technology,this paper reviews the ethical problems of human gene editing technology from the Confucian thoughts of benevolence,human ethics,honesty,the doctrine of the mean,and guiding justice to benefit,and clarify the attitude towards the dilemmas caused by this technology from the perspective of Confucian ethics: From the perspective of Confucian ethics,support the purpose of human gene editing technology to promote human well-being;However,the attitude of Confucianism on the gene editing right of people in the future is complicated.On the one hand,Confucianism respects the laws of nature and does not support gene enhancement in order to ensure the integrity of children’s bodies.On the other hand,under the authority of patriarchy,Confucianism cannot completely guarantee not to enhance the genes of children.In the issue of individual interests and social justice,Confucianism supports that researchers should use reasonable means to satisfy individual self-interests in the research and application of human gene editing technology,but the premise is not to harm the interests of others or the collective.In the relationship of good faith,Confucianism believes that the researchers and subjects of human gene editing technology should maintain good faith and harmonious doctor-patient relationship.The Confucian attitude towards the ethical problems brought by human gene editing technology also contains the ethical principles followed by the Confucian response to the technology and the Confucian suggestions for resolving them:the weak sense of responsibility,the lack of good faith,the alienation of science and technology,and the lack of legal supervision of the relevant personnel of people involved in gene editing techniques are the deep-rooted reasons for the ethical problems of human gene editing technology.In the face of these deep reasons,put forward the Confucian dredging path.The main structure of this paper consists of five parts: the first part is prolegomenon,which mainly involves the present research of human gene editing technology at home and abroad,research methods,research significance and innovation point of the paper.The second part is about the connotation,characteristics and development of human gene editing technology,and discusses the reality,possibility and necessity of human gene editing technology from the perspective of Confucian ethics.The third part is the five ethical dilemmas of human gene editing technology.The fourth part is the Confucian examination of human gene editing technology.The fifth part is a comprehensive analysis of the ethical principles followed by Confucianism in human gene editing technology,and shows the Confucian reality.
