| With the continuous development of digital technology and the popularization of intelligent products, people’s lives have become more convenient. At the same time, increasingly complex products have invisibly created obstacles for users to use, especially in the context of an increasingly aging population. The difficulties and exclusion faced by a growing number of elderly users when facing emerging products and technologies are particularly prominent. As a crucial medium for communication between intelligent products and users, the design style and presentation of interactive interfaces will have a direct impact on the user experience of elderly users. At present, the government has introduced an implementation plan for intelligent technology aging adaptation to promote the participation and enjoyment of digital life by the elderly. However, the current practice of interface aging adaptation design mainly focuses on enlarging visual elements and removing complex functions, which has some improvement effects, but also narrows the space for improving the user experience of elderly users. This study takes inclusive design theory as the starting point to explore the theoretical significance and practical value of inclusive design as a design method in the aging process of interactive interfaces.Firstly,at the theoretical level, the similar concepts, development context, and core theoretical models of inclusive design were sorted out,and the applicable value of inclusive design for aging was summarized.Secondly, based on the results of theoretical research and existing design principles, three inclusive design principles applicable to interactive interfaces, namely respect for differences, simplicity, and flexibility, are compared and summarized.Subsequently, based on the analysis of the design object and the target user’s abilities, three design strategies were proposed:optimizing visual perception to reduce sensory load, streamlining content to reduce cognitive difficulties, and improving operations to bridge action barriers. The theoretical research framework for inclusive interactive interface design was improved, and the inclusive interactive interface design process was constructed. The design methods for each stage were summarized.Afterwards, using Today Headlines,a representative application of mobile news and information,as a case study, the usage process of the product’s core functions was analyzed, and the requirements for user capabilities were extracted.Combined with situational user interviews, the ability exclusion problem in the current interactive interface was analyzed as the starting point for design improvement, and improvements were made based on the proposed design principles, strategies, and processes. Finally, user testing and inclusive evaluation were conducted on the improvement plan, and the effectiveness of the research framework and design process proposed in this study was verified by comparing it with the interaction interface before the improvement. This study is based on inclusive design theory and proposes methods and practical paths to improve the inclusivity of interactive interfaces from the perspective of matching user capabilities with product needs. It provides a certain reference for the aging adaptation of intelligent interactive interfaces at present, and can effectively help elderly users enjoy the convenience brought by digital development and better integrate into digital life. |
