With the rapid development of virtual reality and 5G technology,the development of weather systems that can simulate changes in virtual scene weather has become a new research direction in two emerging fields:virtual reality games and virtual live streaming.The purpose of weather systems is to provide a realistic environment that users can interact with and gain a more immersive experience.Among them,changes in day and night and the four seasons are one of the most basic elements of weather systems,which can provide rich changes and dynamic effects for scenes,thereby enhancing the realism of the scene and the user’s immersion.This paper mainly takes Unreal Engine as the application development platform,researches mature weather system plug-ins on the market,such as Ultra Dynamic Sky and Sky Creator,and conducts in-depth research on both the framework and effects,analyzes the differences between the two in terms of screen performance such as cloud materials and the flexibility of the framework of the two plug-ins,and focuses on the custom weather system based on Unreal Engine The focus is on the implementation of the custom weather system based on Unreal Engine,including the screen performance of volumetric clouds,the transition between global and local weather,and the user-defined screen performance.Finally,a virtual weather voice interaction system based on virtual engine technology was designed and implemented,in which the weather system provides components such as volumetric clouds,sky light,fog,sunlight and post-processing,etc.Users can customize and develop the weather state of the scene,and provide voice interaction to realize the transition of different weather,reduce the complex parameter adjustment in the setting process,and improve the scene development efficiency in the context of VR game applications.The development of a specific weather system for outdoor virtual life has provided a reference for enhancing the development efficiency of VR game application contexts.
