Research On Literary Landscape

In response to the spatial shift,cultural shift and global ecological environment problems in the academic world,China’s literary geography has gradually developed into a prominent science since 2011.As the medium that best reflects the relationship between man and land,literary landscape has always been one of the research hotspots of literary geography and human geography.Professor Zeng Daxing has led the research on literary landscapes in China,but with the popularity of the research,many issues related to the theory and application of literary landscapes have emerged.Therefore,a systematic study of literary landscapes is particularly necessary.The concept and essence of literary landscape are closely related to geographical landscape,so using geographical landscape as a reference can better clarify the meaning,evolution,and attribute characteristics of literary landscape.Literary landscape is a geographical landscape that projects visual images onto people,who,after imaginative processing in their minds,present the landscape in the text.Its concept has evolved from a geographical landscape with Survivability and a cultural landscape with traces of life to a literary landscape in the shaping of human imagination,wandering between the earth and the text.This makes the essence of literary landscape and geographical landscape both different and overlapping.The attributes of literary landscape integrate the natural and humanistic attributes of geographical landscape,and its characteristics absorb the visibility and objectivity of geographical landscape,presenting a vivid and subjective fictional color,becoming the carrier that best reflects the relationship between human and land in literature.From the perspective of the process of literary activities,there are three main links to the development of literary landscapes.Firstly,starting from the natural and media environment,the meaning and types of "nature" are constantly changing.The modern media environment has also changed people’s geographical awareness and experience to varying degrees,thereby affecting the way literary landscapes are shaped and presented.Secondly,taking human pursuit of nature and truth as the creative process,two forms of textual literary landscapes are formed: one is directly presented as a physical literary landscape,with prototypes in real life;Another type of fictional transformation into virtual literary landscapes is the landscape where there are no physical entities in real life,or the landscape that internalizes real geographical experience to serve the novel,or the landscape that does not conform to human survival and life experience.Finally,the literary landscape of the text is transmitted to readers through literary acceptance.Firstly,the spiritual interaction of the literary landscape is achieved in the reader’s mind,which is often new,and then interacts with the objective world.The main results are three: firstly,literary empowerment enables unknown human or geographical landscapes to become famous literary landscapes;Secondly,the author’s former residence becomes a literary landscape,enhancing the sense of literary reality;Thirdly,the virtual literary landscape is transformed into a physical literary landscape,bringing multiple sensory experiences.From then on,the literary landscape started from the earth and returned to it,forming an organic cycle.After clarifying the basic issues of literary landscape,one can appreciate literary landscape from three dimensions: appearance,subject,and tool.The first dimension is the appearance of literary landscapes,that is,innate natural conditions;The second dimension is the writing subject of literary landscapes-literati.The quantity and quality of literati play a crucial role in literary landscapes,but it is necessary to analyze their creative motivation and time points of fame;The third dimension is the literary landscape description tool-language,which can cause misunderstandings and achieve arbitrary deformation of the spatial scale of the landscape,but also has limitations.Finally,through literary theory,literary creation and literary criticism,this paper examines the application status and existing problems of literary landscape,and attempts to propose solutions.Looking forward to the future of literary landscapes within the context of the city,the current era,and the starry sky of the universe,to provide a broader perspective and inclusivity in the protection of human imagination.
