sustainability of ecosystems.Ecological themed documentaries,as an art form that can reflect ecological ideas,showcase ecological achievements,and quickly promote ecology,are increasingly recognized and welcomed by people.The in-depth study of the narrative of Chinese ecological themed documentaries has important and positive significance for reflecting on the relationship between humans and nature,promoting Chinese ecological culture and ideology,and promoting the protection of natural ecological environment and green sustainable development practices.This article is mainly based on theories such as film and television narratology,ecological aesthetics,and communication studies.Through research methods such as literature review,case analysis,comparative analysis,and interdisciplinary research,combined with ecological themed documentaries broadcasted since the new era,especially in the past decade,a comprehensive and systematic analysis is conducted to elucidate the relationship between narrative and Chinese ecological storytelling.Exploring how narrative themes,narrative values,and narrative art are presented in textual narrative.In addition,narration is not only an independent existence,but also an important means of disseminating ecological and cultural connotations.This article will grasp the cultural connotations behind the narrative text,in order to better play the important role of ecological themed documentaries in promoting ecological culture and guiding audience emotions.On the one hand,it contributes to the research of narrative theory and creative practice of ecological themed documentaries.On the other hand,this article’s research on the narrative of ecological themed documentaries in the new era of China can help people establish emotional cognition and convey ecological concepts through empathy and memory.The first chapter defines the concepts of ecological themed documentaries,new era,film and television narratives,and classifies Chinese ecological themed documentaries into several types: poetic,expository,narrative,observational,and interventional.Analyze how traditional Chinese ecological ideas such as "unity of heaven and man","Dao follows nature",and "life is easy" are reflected in Chinese ecological themed documentaries.At the same time,based on the changes and development of ecological concepts,divide China’s ecological themed documentaries into four stages: conquering nature,respecting nature,friendly coexistence,and harmonious coexistence.The second chapter analyzes the narrative value of ecological themed documentaries in the new era of China from three aspects.Firstly,in terms of resonating with the value of audience emotions,this article explores the relationship between Chinese ecological themed documentaries and audience emotions.Secondly,it explains and disseminates the green development concept that green waters and mountains are golden mountains and silver mountains,the systematic governance concept of comprehensive management of mountains,rivers,forests,fields,lakes,grass and sand,and the low-carbon governance concept of the "dual carbon" strategy in China.Finally,it showcases the beauty of green harmony and poetic authenticity in China.Chapter 3 analyzes the narrative theme and cultural connotations of the new era Chinese ecological themed documentaries,mainly reflecting the narrative theme of "harmony" in the new era Chinese ecological themed documentaries through the sum of nature,human relations,and the overall sum.From the perspective of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature,diversity and systematicity The concept of sustainable development and the joint construction of a global community of life are several aspects to showcase the ecological and cultural connotations behind China’s ecological themed documentaries in the new era.The fourth chapter analyzes the narrative art of Chinese ecological themed documentaries in the new era,showcasing the application of several narrative perspectives such as zero focus,internal focus,and external focus in the film.The narrative structure is analyzed through linear and nonlinear structures,and the narrative time is analyzed from several aspects such as time sequence,time interval,and time frequency,showcasing the characteristics of Chinese ecological themed documentaries in film and television narrative.The fifth chapter is based on the characteristics of China’s ecological themed documentaries in the new era,to explore how documentaries can tell the story of China’s ecology well,and better carry out international dissemination,so as to better promote the image of a green China and an ecological China as a major country.Firstly,the creation of documentaries should have a global mindset and absorb the advantages of Western documentaries in their creation.Secondly,it is necessary to form a documentary discourse system with Chinese characteristics in order to tell the story of China’s ecology well and better align China’s ecological themed documentaries with international standards.Finally,it is necessary to achieve empathetic communication through co frequency resonance,moving people with emotions,so that documentaries can be known to more audiences and widely disseminated.The paper mentions the concepts and theories of film and television narratology and communication studies as theoretical guidance for exploring the value,connotation,and emotions of ecological documentaries,clarifying the differences between ecological documentaries and other types of documentaries,and highlighting the narrative characteristics of ecological documentary shooting and creation.Based on the dimensions of narrative ethics and narrative value,this article provides intellectual support for the path of harmonious development between humans and nature,emphasizes the narrative innovation of ecological documentaries in the
