The Research Of Shen Congwen In South Korea

Shen Congwen is one of the famous writers in China who focused on the pure literature and constructed the "Xiangxi World" in his stories.Shen Congwen had been discovered in the West and received high praise since 1960 s.He had also attracted attention from China to the world,finally set off a great wave of reviewing his writing in the 1970s～1980s.The research of Shen Congwen in South Korea has been appeared in the late 1980 s and developed more than 30 years.Although the research are not at the same as China in scale and results,it has its special parts due to different conditions in social history,economic system and cultural atmosphere.Most of research results are written by South Korean researchers published in South Korean academic journals.There no any academic articles to summarize this research and question its improper presentations so far.To this end,this paper will take the study of the research of Shen Congwen in South Korea as the research subject,sort out the academic history of this research in the past 30 years,so as to provide an academic reference for study of Shen Congwen outside China.There are more than 120 papers on Riss and other South Korean academic websites.By collecting and translating research results,this paper will uses these papers as the original material to describe the overall outline of the research of Shen Congwen in South Korea.The introduction mainly explained the research purpose and methods,introduced the history and current situation of Shen Congwen’s research outside China.It also expounded the history and current status about the research of Shen Congwen in South Korea.The first chapter introduced the translation and publication of Shen Congwen in South Korea.Secondly,systematically reviewed the research of Shen Congwen in South Korea.First of all,traced the research history divided it into three periods:embryonic stage,development period and mature period based on the number and scope of research results.Once again,selected four people as the representatives in order to introduce the main scholars of the research of Shen Congwen in South Korea.The second chapter reviewed the research of Shen Congwen in South Korea in internal and external study according to the theory of literature from Rene Wellek.In external study,the research mostly examined the relationship between Shen Congwen and the social history of China.Some papers took the perspective of literature and biography to take up research.In internal study,it had a variety of contents,included imagery research,narrative research,literary genre research,and translation research.The third chapter summarized the research of Shen Congwen in South Korea from comparative perspective of literature.In terms of Shen Congwen and South Korean writers,South Korean researchers prefer to selected Kim Yu-jeong,Kim Dong-ni to compare with Shen Congwen.Some researchers had also noted the commonality of Shen Congwen and Yi Kwang-su.In terms of Shen Congwen and Chinese writers,the South Korean researchers reviewed the local literature as the clue to compare Shen Congwen with Lu Xun and Mo Yan,who represented the Chinese root-seeking literature writing.The fourth part discussed the existing problems of the research of Shen Congwen in South Korea.And make some suggestions for the subsequent development of Shen Congwen’s research in both South Korea and China.
