| The change of times and the development of society still cannot conceal the charm of oil portraits.Oil portrait art has undergone countless eras of baptism in both China and the West,and it continues to reveal new possibilities as the artistic environment and the artists’ ideology change.As art evolved into contemporary times,traditional methods of creation could no longer meet the needs of artists,and they began to look for new ways of creation,and thus comprehensive material painting was born.With the increasing popularity of comprehensive material painting language among artists,it has become a trend to include the use of materials in the creation of oil portrait art.In the creation of oil portraits,the use of different materials will form very different picture effects.The proper use of materials will not only enhance the visual impact of the picture,but also become a new carrier for the artists to present artistic concepts.The present paper is divided into four parts,mainly studying the use and expression of comprehensive materials in contemporary oil portrait creation.The first part elaborates on the definition,function and connotation of portrait painting.The second part analyzes the history of Chinese and Western oil painting portraits from the perspective of historical development,and explores the concepts and forms of contemporary portrait painting,as well as the artists Yue Minjun and Zhang Xiaogang.The third part studies the current situation,classification,and characteristics of comprehensive materials and their use in the creation of portrait painting since the 20 th century.In the fourth part,through the previous research and analysis,the author works from a personal perspective and elaborates on the process of oil painting portrait creation and the selection and use of comprehensive materials in the creation. |
