A Study Of The National Goods Movement In Shandong(1928-1937)

Around the 1930 s,the national goods movement developed to a climax and became one of the seven central movements of the National Government of Nanjing,which marked that the promotion of national goods officially rose to the policy of the government.Shandong,as one of the important sources of advocating national goods movement,has a profound historical basis.The Jinan tragedy,the outbreak of the local Anti-Japanese War and the trend of cheap gold and silver are important factors to promote the national goods movement in Shandong.Since then,Shandong based on its own situation,gradually began to advocate domestic products.After Han Fuju took control of Shandong,the political and economic development of Shandong was gradually stable.An official organization was established to promote domestic products,and a large-scale national goods movement was carried out in Shandong.From the perspective of official promotion and effectiveness of national goods,the national goods movement in Shandong can be roughly divided into three stages:exploration period,promotion period and strengthening period.Among all kinds of measures to promote national goods,Shandong Provincial Exhibition Hall is an important platform for Shandong to carry out national goods movement,providing a place for exhibition and trading of national goods in Shandong Province and even the whole country.By taking advantage of the influence of the exhibition,Shandong Provincial Exhibition Hall has further established domestic shopping malls or domestic companies to expand the production and marketing platform,which has produced a wide range of regional effects.In order to facilitate the circulation of domestic goods,the national government of Nanjing issued the certificate system of domestic goods,but also because of its own limitations in the specific implementation of changes,the chamber of commerce gradually evolved into the main body of the certificate of domestic goods,Qingdao Chamber of Commerce in the certificate of national goods through the submission of domestic information,binding shop credit,chamber of commerce to investigate,letter certification and other processes.Form completely different chamber of commerce domestic certification mode.All in all,the national goods movement in Shandong has formed a government-led mode,in which different social strata participate.Manufacturers integrate domestic product discourse in marketing means.Relying on convenient railway transportation network,Shandong cotton weaving industry has a window period of development..After the outbreak of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression,the national goods movement in Shandong and even the whole country tended to be stagnant,but the spirit of promoting national goods was inherited and developed,and the idea of promoting and developing national economy in the national goods movement has been of reference significance to this day.
