The residential buildings in Lvliang Duan Village have strong regional characteristics,and their decorative art forms have rich and unique connotations.This article conducts research on the sculptural characteristics,aesthetic characteristics,and internal meanings of carved patterns in residential buildings in Duan Village,Lvliang,through on-site research and collection of literature materials.Its artistic form and visual language have important reference points for this article,and also provide a modeling foundation for the design of visual elements.Through investigation and research on decorative art materials,it was found that the carving patterns on Duan Village residential buildings have a wide range of themes due to the combination of commodity capital and farming culture.After summarizing them,it was concluded that the carving patterns in Duan Village residential buildings in Lvliang can be divided into two art forms: brick carving and wood carving.Basic images mainly composed of animal patterns,plant patterns,and other types of carving patterns were extracted as visual elements,and integrated and infiltrated with modern visual design forms,Complete the transformation from an ancient visual image to a modern design aesthetic,while retaining its original styling features,and design and apply the extracted and transformed visual elements with modern layout methods,so that they can blend and connect in the collision between traditional visual elements and modern design forms,Exploring a visual element redesign work that combines the inherent meaning of Shanxi traditional residential architectural decoration culture with tangible material symbols.The series of design works,combined with modern communication media such as poster design,pattern design,and stamp and graphic design,have played a promoting role in the promotion of carving patterns and folk culture in the residential areas of Lvliang Duan Village.Through traditional and breakthrough approaches,they have discovered diverse and unique visual languages,providing a new perspective for viewers to further understand and understand the carving patterns in the residential areas of Lvliang Duan Village.
