A Study Of Aesthetic Modernity In Yu Jian’s Prose

Yu Jian is one of the most important prose writers in the contemporary literary circle.His prose not only innovates the style of prose and expands the development space of Chinese prose,but also contains profound cultural reflection and aesthetic criticism,and has a high degree of attention to the issue of modernity.Aiming at the current weak research on aesthetic modernity created by contemporary Chinese writers,this paper studies the aesthetic modernity of Yu Jian’s prose in combination with the reflection of Jian’s prose on the relationship between tradition and modernity,analyzes the specific manifestation and unique connotation of Yu jian’s aesthetic modernity from the theoretical perspective of modernity,and stri ves to excavate the aesthetic value it carries.This paper consists of four chapters:The first chapter is an interpretation of aesthetic modernity.This chapter first discusses the concept of modernity,and clarifies the generative logic and essential attributes of aesthetic modernity on the basis of clarifying the relationship between aesthetic modernity,modernity and enlightenment modernity,and then summarizes the three different levels of aesthetic modernity—artistic self-discipline,modernity reflection and aesthetic redemption,and finally analyzes the new development tendency of aesthetic modernity by introducing the self-renewal character of aesthetic modernity,paving the way for subsequent arguments.The second chapter is a concrete analysis of the first level of the aesthetic modernity of Jian’s prose.This chapter discusses Yu Jian essays’ reflections on the ills and crises of modernity,including the reflection of instrumental rationality,ecological crises,the demise of national traditions.Chapter 3 is a specific analysis of the second dimension of the aesthetic modernity of Jian’s prose.This chapter discusses the aesthetic redemption ideals of "artistic life" and "poetic dwelling" contained in Yu Jian’s prose from the aspects of transcending the dilemma of instrumental rationality and constructing spiritual beliefs.Chapter 4 summarizes the value of aesthetic modernity in prose on the basis of a synthesis of the previous discussions.This chapter summarizes the unique value of Yu Jian’s aesthetic modernity from the perspectives of perfecting China’s aesthetic modernity and promoting the development of Chinese modernity—contributing to the construction of China’s aesthetic modernity and providing aesthetic inspiration for the development of Chinese modernity.Modernity is still a continuous plan in China and even the world,and aesthetic modernity is still an important topic that cannot be ignored.The study of the aesthetic modernity of Jian prose is not only to explore the aesthetic connotati on of his prose from a new perspective,but also to explore China’s aesthetic modernity more comprehensively,and enrich the theoretical discourse of Chinese aesthetic modernity at the level of artistic practice.
