People unconsciously divide daily behavioral events into smaller units, which is called event segmentation.Event segmentation is a spontaneous component of individual psychological perception, which is of great significance for individuals to process continuous information and organize it into memory.Especially when the human body enters the middle-aged and elderly stage, the ability to remember events will gradually decline. So,how effective is the individual’s ability to maintain event memory under the influence of event segmentation factors? How does the middle-aged and elderly population maintain event memory in different life situations? Based on these issues, this study empirically analyzed the information retention ability of event segmentation on event memory in urban middle-aged and elderly people, based on previous research theories and literature research results. Finally, the research findings of this study are as follows:(1)The prediction of event segmentation ability on event memory in urban healthy middle-aged and elderly people under hearing stimulation. The audio group and the audio and video group had different prediction of event memory after 1 and 2event segmentation; The audio group’s prediction of event memory was lower than the audio and video group’s prediction of event memory, and the effect of two event segmentation of audio and video stimuli on event memory prediction was more significant. However, the audio group still had a good effect for the event memory prediction.(2)The impact of situational changes in life audio on event memory in urban healthy middle-aged and elderly people. The situational changes group and the without situational changes group have different effects on event memory after one or two event segmentation, and the prediction effect of event memory is different for different delay time periods immediately,10 minutes later, and 1 month later; The effect of situational changes group is higher than that of the without situational changes group. The shorter the delay time, the more significant the predictive effect on event memory. Moreover, the effect of event segmentation with two situational changes on event memory prediction is more significant.(3)The impact of the complexity of life audio context changes on event memory in urban healthy middle-aged and elderly people. The audio with complex situational changes group and the audio with single situational changes group have different effects on event memory after 1 and 2 event segmentation; The effect of event segmentation on complex scenario change audio is more significant, and the prediction effect of event memory is more significant for complex scenario change audio with two event segmentation attempts. In summary, this study is based on the study of event segmentation for urban middle-aged and elderly people in terms of maintaining event memory.Based on experimental methods,it analyzes the prediction of event segmentation on event memory under different stimuli and scenarios. From a theoretical perspective, this study helps to enrich and develop literature research results related to event segmentation theory. In practical terms, the relevant experimental results obtained in event segmentation and event memory in this study can further promote the methods for urban middle-aged and elderly people to remember life events and improve their quality of healthy life.
