The Research On Problems Of Guest-Reception Department In Liao,Song,Jin And Yuan Dynasties

Guest-Reception Department and its related systems were an important part of the ancient Chinese bureaucracy,and the Liao,Song,Jin and Yuan Dynasties were a period of further development and gradual decline of Guest-Reception Department and its related systems.The research of the relevant issues of the Guest-Reception Department in Liao,Song,Jin and Yuan Dynasties is of great significance for a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the development of the Guest-Reception Department system in ancient China,as well as the exchange activities between the regimes and the characteristics of the historical era.In this paper,the use of textual research,comparative method and other traditional historical research methods,based on the official history of the literature,but also as far as possible the combination of notebooks and stone historical materials to assist research.The article is divided into four parts.The first part is mainly to sort out the evolution and development stages of the Guest-Reception Department and related systems,which focuses on the causes of the rise of the Guest-Reception Department and related systems in the middle Tang Dynasty,the development of the Guest-Reception Department in the Liao,Song and Jin Dynasties,and the reasons for the demise of the Yuan and Ming Dynasties.It is believed that the rise of the Guest-Reception Department in the middle Tang Dynasty is closely related to the rise of the eunuchs in this period,and the power of the eunuchs has become the center of dealing with government affairs.The disappearance of the Guest-Reception Department and related systems during the Yuan and Ming dynasties is due to the strengthening of local control in the Ming Dynasty,which makes the Guest-Reception Department and related systems lose their political environment.The second part mainly analyzes the institutions and official system of Guest-Reception Departments in the Liao,Song,Jin and Yuan Dynasties,focusing on the characteristics and causes of the institutional setting of the Guest-Reception Department.It is believed that the Guest-Reception Department in the Liao Dynasty inherited the official system of the Tang Dynasty,showing the characteristics of centralized power.The Guest-Reception Department in the Northern Song Dynasty showed the characteristics of decentralized power due to the emphasis on the principle of " separation of powers and checks and balances." The Guest-Reception Department in the Jin Dynasty also showed the trend of decentralized power due to the influence of the Northern Song Dynasty system.The Guest-Reception Department in the Southern Song Dynasty were centralized management due to changes in the political environment.In addition,the functions and rank status of officials of Guest-Reception Department were discussed.The third part mainly observes and analyzes the operation of the Guest-Reception Department and the officials in the Liao,Song,Jin and Yuan Dynasties.It is believed that the Guest-Reception Department is an indispensable executor in many etiquette activities during the Liao,Song and Jin Dynasties,and plays an important role in the smooth progress of etiquette activities.The fourth part mainly discusses the role and influence of Guest-Reception Departments in Liao,Song,Jin and Yuan Dynasties.It is believed that the role of the Guest-Reception Department in the Liao,Song,Jin and Yuan Dynasties can be divided into four aspects : political engagement activities,etiquette culture system,military and reward,and information transmission and security.It is believed that the Guest-Reception Department and related systems have influenced the exchange and communication activities and systems for hundreds of years during this period.In a word,through the discussion and research on the problems of the Guest-Reception Department in the Liao,Song,Jin and Yuan Dynasties,we can not only have a deeper understanding of the interaction and institutional cultural exchange between the various regimes in this period,but also observe the historical changes in the hundreds of years from the Middle Tang Dynasty to the Yuan Dynasty from the perspective of the development of the Guest-Reception Department and their related systems.
