A Study Of Literary Debates In The Period Of Total Anti-japanese War

During the Comprehensive Anti-Japanese War,Guilin became the "Guilin Cultural City" where literary and art masters gathered,and became one of the cultural centers of the same status as Yan ’an and Chongqing in the whole country,and also the cultural center of Guangxi.At that time,literature and art activities in Guilin were extensive and frequent,and a large number of literary journals were published and issued.When sorting out the literature journals published in Guilin during the Comprehensive Anti-Japanese War,we can find that many of them are related to the literary debates in this period.The literary debates involved in Guilin Literature journals in the period of the Comprehensive Anti-Japanese War mainly included the Debate on National Form and the Writers’ Protection Movement,as well as the Critical exploration of Realism and Research and Debate on Lu Xun’s Memorial Activities.These articles that participated in the literary debates were mainly written by writers and artists who traveled to Guangxi during the war,including literary and artistic masters such as Mao Dun and Guo Moruo.This research selects the literary debates centered on Guilin literature journals during the Comprehensive Anti-Japanese War as the research object,and starts from the articles about the debates,hoping to further explore the deeper connotation behind the literary debates in literary journals,in order to further explore the different perspectives of the study of literary journals.At the same time,the research also discusses the relationship between the development of literature and art in Guangxi and the national literature and art movement,and also demonstrates the history of the interaction between literature and art in Guangxi and the whole country during the Comprehensive Anti-Japanese War.The thesis is divided into four chapters:The first chapter investigates the background of literary debates during the Comprehensive Anti-Japanese War and the literature and art ecology of Guilin literature journals,analyzes the background and development of literary debates,and summarizes the classification and characteristics of literature periodicals.The second chapter mainly sorts out the history of the literary debates in Guilin literature journals during the Anti-Japanese War,including the background of the literature and art debates,specific events and the literature and art propositions of the participants,in order to show the clear context of the literary debates in Guilin literature journals during the Comprehensive Anti-Japanese War.As well as the interaction between the literary debates involved in Guilin literature journals and those in other areas of China,it outlines the relatively comprehensive attitude of the literary circle to the same debate at that time.The third chapter,on the basis of the above,discusses the deeper problems behind the literary debates in the period of Comprehensive Anti-Japanese War centered on Guilin Literature journals.Through the exploration of the "popularization" of literature and art and the separation between new literature and the public,the conflict between the wartime cultural censorship and the freedom of literary and art creation,and the competition for the right of speech of literature and art behind the literary debates,this research demonstrates the development process of literature history and the relationship between literature and politics.The fourth chapter summarizes the function and contribution of the literary debates in literature journals Guilin during the Comprehensive Anti-Japanese War.This research discusses the mutual influence of literature and art movements in Guangxi and the whole country during the Comprehensive Anti-Japanese War,promotes the development of literature and art in the Anti-Japanese War with the propaganda of literature and art in the Anti-Japanese War,and influences the development trend of literature and art in China during and after the war.In conclusion,the special background and historical conditions led to the vigorous development of literature journals in Guilin during the Comprehensive Anti-Japanese War,and literature journals in Guilin became a good carrier for literary debates during the Anti-Japanese War.The theoretical discussion of literary debates in literature journals in Guilin not only promoted the development of literature and art in the Anti-Japanese War in China,but also reflected the connection between literature and politics in the competition for cultural leadership behind it.It also had a certain effect on the development of literature and art in Guangxi and even the whole country,and influenced the trend of literature and art after the war.
