A Study Of Gender Narratives Of Women’s Figures In Rural Documentaries

The research on rural documentaries is to explore the problems of China.This paper takes gender narrative theory as the research support,combines with some rural documentaries,analyzes and deconstructs the female images contained in them,and solves the related problems of rural female images by dispelling the binary opposite of social gender and constructing multiple rural female images.As an important carrier that can show the development and changes of The Times,rural documentary is not only a precious image that objectively records the changes and development of China’s rural areas,but also a propaganda film that shows China’s local culture and rural humanistic value to the world.With the development of The Times,the relevant values contained in the content of rural documentaries are also changing,both the deep-rooted clan consciousness and the old stereotyped gender concepts of men and women have been changed.Rural problem is the fundamental problem of China,and the female problem in the package content of rural documentaries is representative.The patriarchal system exists widely in domestic families,large and small.In the past,women are the "second sex" that has been stripped away,especially in rural areas.They have always been the objects of "description" and "prejudice" in various texts.With the development of the new era,more and more excellent women in the new era appear in people’s vision,and they are presented in rural documentaries as women.Women gradually regain their own right to speak.The rise of "she-power","she-economy" and "she-culture" also indicates the awakening of female self-consciousness and the improvement of female discourse power.Moreover,more and more women begin to appear in the political participation and management in rural areas,and some rural women become world famous on the we-media platform in the form of documentaries,which is unheard of before.Therefore,it is of urgent practical significance to study the female images in rural documentaries.Under the theoretical observation of media image and gender narrative,this paper takes rural documentaries as the research object and investigates the female image in them through text analysis,case analysis and comparative study,so as to provide a new dimension of thinking for in-depth study of rural documentaries.The research is as follows.The research starts from the perspective of gender narrative.First,it studies the setting of narrative themes in rural documentaries.With the research background of social system,cultural concept,media choice of audiences and the rise of women’s own power,it learns the logic behind the diversification of female images in rural documentaries under the background of the new era.In addition,it chooses the new thought of gender equality as the narrative theme,focuses on dispelling the labeling of old stereotyped concepts on women,and selects representative women in the new era as the main characters to promote the courage of women in the new era to tear off the values of labeling.Then,in terms of the selection of narrative framework,the author believes that the creators of rural documentaries in the new era should adopt the horizontal creation method,and should take the strong and weak aspects of male and female image construction as the way,choose the frame structure with prominent gender tension to construct the female image in the new era.Finally,in terms of stylized audiovisual narrative performance,this paper studies how to use audiovisual means conforming to women to highlight women’s strength in the actual process of rural documentary shooting,so as to learn how to better shape the female image in the actual operation of documentary shooting.This paper holds that rural documentaries should take gender equality as the theme,show diverse female images to the audience,highlight the power of women in the new era through the narrative framework of prominent gender tension,and introduce female images in depth through the use of feminized audiovisual means,so as to dispel the stereotypes of women in the media and improve the public’s cognition of Chinese women.While highlighting the strength of women in the new era,we will further help the development of female groups.
