The Small Town’s Writing In Liu Xinglong’s Novel

Liu Xinglong,who once brought a strong "realism shock wave" to the Chinese literary world,is the only writer in Hubei Province who has achieved the "double crown" in literature.As an undeniable existence in Liu Xinglong’s novels,Jingchu Town integrates the profound historical and spiritual connotations of China’s new and old,change and normalcy,modern and traditional with its multiplicity,profundity,and complexity.Therefore,the town writing of Liu Xinglong is of great significance in the contemporary literary.The paper consists of three parts: introduction,main body,and conclusion,and the main body includes three chapters.The introduction section first introduces the background,research purpose,and significance of the topic,and combs the evolution of the town from the perspective of literary history.The characteristics of small towns at different stages and the existing researches at home and abroad are summarized.Then the overall thesis idea is proposed,the concept of small towns is defined,and the literary pedigree of small town’s writing is combed.The first chapter focuses on the presentation form of the town text.The scenery of Jingchu Town is composed of four parts: the town landscape,town characters,town folk customs,and conditions of the people.The method of close reading is used to systematically sort out the image of the town,interpret the deep meaning and aesthetic value of the town,and explore the history,culture,and national spirit of the town.The second chapter makes a detailed analysis of the artistic aesthetics of the novel from three aspects: perspective,structure,and language.Liu Xinglong is not limited to traditional novel narrative strategies,but creatively uses multiple perspectives to transform and blend,deepens the theme of the town with a non-linear structure narrative strategy,and demonstrates the natural,plain,and vivid language charm using dialect native language.The third chapter mainly explores the writing value behind the town of Liu Xinglong.This article presents Liu Xinglong’s modern reflection on the local culture and the national spirit of Jingchu from three aspects,namely,the humanistic care from the perspective of civilians,human nature examination from the perspective of reality,and cultural reconstruction of poetic rural areas.
