Women are considered to be one of the eternal themes. In the course of the development of oil painting art, many works of art representing female subjects have been created, which reflect the aesthetic pursuit and creative philosophy of the artist. This paper attempts to carry out research on the basis of Neil Roger’s paintings, through studying the inner thoughts and forms of expression of the artist’s works, combined with the author’s practice and exploration in the process of oil painting creation. In addition, this paper carries out in-depth research and detailed elaboration on the creation of Warm Healing series, and integrates my own emotional experience into the creation process to express my reverence and praise for women. This article provides a brief overview of Neil Roger’s artistic characteristics based on the reasons for the painting style.First of all, this paper elaborates on Neil Roger’s practical exploration and innovation in Warm Healing series from the aspects of material selection and conception, picture atmosphere creation, shadow and color presentation and so on.The series of drawings, the use of geometrical elements and composition, the use of colour and the expression of emotions are refined and extended through the use of reference and integration, and the problems encountered in the process of creation are reflected and summarized, thus reflecting the author’s exploration of the effects of the images and the presentation of the characters’ emotions in the creation.Ultimately,a creative thinking that focuses on simplicity of form and refinement of meaning has gradually developed. This arrangement attempts to show the aesthetic pursuit and emotional expression of the youthful female subject matter in the creation, thus conveying the humanistic spirit implied in the depths.
