| Purpose:To collect and organize prescriptions for impotence from the pre-Qin to the Qing dynasties based on ancient Chinese medical literature,to explore the data and formulae patterns, and to refine the core formulae and medicines,so as to provide a comprehensive and complete theoretical basis and formulae experience for the clinical treatment of impotence. Methods: Using the Chinese Medical Dictionary,we searched the prescriptions for impotence from the pre-Qin dynasty to the Qing dynasty, and on the premise that "every word has its origin",we used(1)prescriptions for impotence with detailed and complete composition,(2)prescriptions for internal administration in any form,(3)prescriptions with composition but no specific formula name,and(4)prescriptions for impotence from medical cases. If the source of prescriptions was medical cases, prescriptions that were effective after treatment were selected as inclusion criteria, and data were collated using(1)prescriptions with duplicate drug composition,(2)prescriptions with different prescription names and the same composition,(3)prescriptions that were not taken internally, and prescriptions with unclear descriptions of impotence characteristics and incomplete records as exclusion criteria. The collated results were entered into the TCM Heritage Auxiliary Platform v2.5 for data mining to obtain the frequency of Chinese herbal medicine use, sexual flavor attribution, association analysis and cluster analysis of prescriptions, and to obtain new prescriptions. Results: Through data collation,139 prescriptions of impotence were obtained from 59 ancient Chinese medical texts, involving 242 herbal medicines, and the frequency of drug use reached 1,458 times.1.Frequency of drugs: The drugs used ≧10 times in descending order were:hyoscyamus, angelica, poria, rehmannia, fangfeng, ginseng, licorice, aconite, astragalus, atractylodes, cypress, coix seed, paeonia lactiflora, atractylodes, qiangwu, cinnamon, schisandra, schisandra, dulcimer, chenpi, dioscorea, zedoary, cistanches, cinnamon, maitong, dendrobium, chuanxiong, fangji,Zhimu, cuscuta, bacopa monniera, antelope horn, raw earth, date palm, tiger bone The medicine is based on the following principles2.The frequency of the four gases and five flavors of drugs: the final result is that the frequency of the four gases of drugs from high to low is warm, cold, flat, hot and cool. The frequency of the five tastes of drugs from high to low is sweet, bitter, pungent, sour, salty and astringent.3.Frequency of drug meridians: The frequency of drug meridians is as follows:kidney meridian, liver meridian, spleen meridian, heart meridian, lung meridian, stomach meridian, bladder meridian, large intestine meridian, bile meridian, small intestine meridian, pericardium meridian, and sanjiao meridian.4.Drug association rules situation: the number of support is set to 10,confidence level is set to 0.6,resulting in 102 pairs of drug pairing combinations with a frequency of ≧ 10.There were 27 two-drug association rules,34 three-drug association rules, and 2 four-drug association rules.Niubizi-Angelia,Shu Di Huang-Niubizi,Niubizi-Fang Feng, and Ginseng-Poria were the more common combinations.5.Drug clustering analysis: 30 groups of core drug combinations and 15 groups of new formula combinations were obtained from the clustering analysis.Conclusions:1.In this study,we collected and organized prescriptions for impotence from the pre-Qin to Qing dynasties, mined them for data and explored the clustering pattern, and obtained 139 prescriptions from 59 ancient Chinese medical texts through quantitative analysis of drugs. We obtained 47 high-frequency drugs with a frequency≥ 10,102 pairs of drug pairs with a frequency of use ≥ 10,27 association rules for two drugs,34 association rules for three drugs,2 association rules for four drugs, and 15 groups of new formula combinations.2.In terms of medicinal properties, more warm drugs were used to tonify deficiency and cold drugs were used to clear heat.In terms of taste, sweet drugs are used to tonify the spleen, bitter drugs to strengthen yin,and pungent drugs to move lung qi.In terms of meridians, the most medicinal flavors attributed to the kidney, liver and spleen meridians were consistent with the treatment of tonifying the liver and kidney and benefiting the spleen qi.3.In the analysis of the data,it was found that in the treatment of impotence, the ancient physicians used medicines based on the principle of tonifying the deficient and dipping the actual. When treating actual impotence, they mostly cleared lung heat, cooled the heart and blood, and dipped the fire in the liver and kidney;when treating deficiency impotence, they mostly used sweet and warm drugs to nourish the spleen and benefit the stomach,so as to achieve the effect of benefiting qi and tonifying blood. The analysis of data from the literature can lead to more intuitive and quantitative results, providing a certain reference basis for clinical research on impotence. |
