| Since 1554,after the Portuguese obtained permission to immigrate to Macau,they gradually began to colonize Macau.In 1588,priest Alessandro Valignano introduced the German Gutenberg printing press to Macau and founded the Macau Printing Press,which opened up the printing and publishing industry in Macau.Macau was officially colonized by Portugal in about 1849,but as early as 1814,a modern printing house opened by Christian missionary Morrison appeared in Macau,named the East India Company printing house.With printing houses,there must be book publishing.However,due to various reasons,the academic circles have also achieved relatively few achievements in the research on Chinese language publishing in Macau.Especially in terms of sorting out the historical stages and content characteristics of Macau Chinese book publishing,it is not very clear.Based on the WORLDCAT online bibliographic database of OCLC(Online Computer Library Center),this paper obtains 2,000 Chinese bibliographic information published in Macau from 1920 to 2020 with a large collection.Statistics and analysis were carried out in terms of the year,type,language,and nature of the publishing house,etc.,and the stages of Chinese book publishing in Macau over the past 100 years were divided into three stages.The first stage is from 1920 to 1949 before the founding of New China,The main feature was colonization,the number of Chinese-language book publishing institutions is small and the content is single,focusing on history,geography,literature and art.From 1950 to 1998,before Macau’s return to the motherland,it was the second stage.Substantial growth,more diversified content of Chinese-language book publishing.Then from 1999 to 2020,the third stage after the handover of Macau,the main feature is to strengthen exchanges and cooperation,strengthen exchanges and cooperation with publishing houses in mainland and overseas countries with strong official support,and play a role in own language advantage.This article consists of the introduction of Chapter 1,the main body of Chapter 2,Chapter 3,Chapter 4 and the research conclusion of Chapter 5.In the main body chapters,specific data charts are attached to support the conclusions drawn to ensure the authenticity and reliability of the research.Chapter 1:Introduction.This chapter highlights the research problems and the importance of this work,the current state of research on this work at home and abroad;special research methods,data sources and feasibility analysis.Chapter 2:Historical changes in the publishing of Chinese-language books in Macau.This chapter first briefly introduces the general situation of Macau,and then the development procedure of Chinese publishing in Macau is divided into three stages:before the founding of the People’s Republic of China,before the return to China,and after the return to China,and then it analyzes the changes of Macau’s book publishing policies and laws and regulations in these three historical stages,and finally analyzes the stage changes of Macau’s book publishing market.Through these four parts to pave the way for the analysis of the characteristics of book publishing content in the following.Chapter 3:The general characteristics of book publishing in Macau over the past 100 years.This chapter is one of the key parts of this research.It is mainly divided into book publishing type analysis,language analysis,publishing year analysis and the changing characteristics of book publishing types in Macau over the past 100 years.Each subsection has specific book information data charts to provide support for the conclusion.Chapter 4:Analysis of typical book publishers in Macau.This chapter mainly analyzes the development history of six representative publishing houses in Macau,the relationship between the types and years of book publishing,and their most representative books,and further verifies the three stages of Chinese book publishing in Macau over the past century,and the different The content characteristics of the stage are:1.Before the founding of the People’s Republic of China,the publishing of Chinese-language books in Macau had colonial characteristics.There were not many Chinese-language book publishing institutions,and the number of books published was not large.The book publishing industry followed Portuguese laws.Geography,literature and art are related,and are jointly influenced by traditional Chinese culture and Western culture;2.After the founding of New China and before the return of Macau,with the deregulation of the Portuguese and Macau governments,the promulgation of Macau’s "Publishing Law" and the strong official support,Macau Publishing The industry began to have localized characteristics,the number of various publishing institutions increased rapidly,and the types of Chinese book publishing were gradually diversified;3.After the return of Macau,various publishing institutions in Macau and book publishing institutions in mainland,Hong Kong and Taiwan regions were supported by the government.Actively communicate and cooperate,give full play to the advantages of language platforms,and strengthen publishing cooperation with overseas countries,especially Portuguese-speaking countries,and the content of book publishing will be more diversified and high-quality.Chapter 5:Research conclusions,this chapter first summarizes the characteristics of Macau’s century-old Chinese book publishing on the basis of the previous article:first,the publication type is fixed,and the content is mostly about Macau;second,the publishers are diversified,and the scale of the publishing house is small.;Third,the cooperation in publishing with the mainland has been strengthened since the return of China;fourth,Macau is the link between the East and the West,and the fusion of Eastern and Western cultures in publishing.Then summarizes the three historical phases of Chinese book publishing in Macao over the past 100 years,namely before the founding of the People’s Republic of China,after the founding of the People’s Republic of China,and before the return of Macao and after the return of Macao.Then,this chapter puts forward specific suggestions for further forming a unified publishing market in the mainland,Taiwan,Hong Kong and Macau through the previous research:first,to breed new forms of products with the help of new technologies;the second is to take full advantage of the geographic advantages of the Greater Bay Area Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao and strengthen cooperative publishing;3.Give full play to the role of cultural ties between China and the West to form a unique publishing advantage.Finally,this chapter systematically summarizes and evaluates the full-text research,and analyzes the limitations of this paper and provides new directions for future publication research on Macau. |
