| Evaluation is not only an important means to ensure curriculum implementation,but also an organic part of teaching activities.To carry out formative evaluation effectively,teachers should fully understand and accept the new evaluation concept.After reading a large number of references,the author finds that there are few studies focusing on senior high school English teachers.Therefore,this study takes senior high school English teachers in Tongliao as an example to explore their cognition and practice of formative evaluation through questionnaire,interview and classroom observation.In order to achieve the above objectives,this study mainly solves the following problems:(1)What is the cognition of formative evaluation of senior high school English teachers in Tongliao area?(2)What problems exist in the practice of formative evaluation in senior high school English teaching in Tongliao area?(3)What are the factors that affect the practice of formative evaluation of senior high school English teachers in Tongliao area?The results show that:(1)In the cognition of formative evaluation,most teachers lack a deep understanding of the essence of evaluation.(2)In the practice of formative evaluation,there are mainly the following problems: single evaluation subject,one-sided evaluation content,single evaluation method and so on.(3)The main factors affecting the practice of formative evaluation include internal factors such as teachers’ backward evaluation concept,inaccurate role positioning and external factors such as imperfect evaluation system and lack of support from schools.Based on the above research results,the author puts forward the following suggestions to improve the formative evaluation: when using formative evaluation,teachers should improve the diversification of evaluation subject,content,method and feedback form;teachers should update the evaluation concept and clarify their own role;schools should deeply study the application strategies of formative evaluation and strengthen the investment and supervision of formative evaluation.Finally,the author hopes that the results of this study can provide some suggestions for senior high school English teachers in Tongliao area to promote the implementation of formative evaluation strategies,so as to promote the all-round development of students. |
