You You Lu Ming is the first original indigenous opera of Ningbo,Zhejiang Province.The opera was produced by Ningbo Performace Group and was staged in Ningbo city in 2017.It was composed by Meng Weidong and written by Yong Zhi and Guo Xue.The opera has won many prizes as it was staged.You You Lu Ming told the story of Tu Youyou,a Chinese traditional medicine scientist who invented artemisinin.It is also the first opera that featured female medical scientists which told a touching story with a plain language.The article had developed an understanding of the creating aim by illustrating the creating context of the opera;From the whole life of Tu Youyou,to her personality and musical differences that has changed by different stages,thereby understanding Tu Youyou’s characterization.The article was aimed to provide learners with powerful support in future performance and develop better understanding to the composition.
