| The College English teaching guide requires English courses to cultivate learners’ autonomous learning ability and cross-cultural communication ability through situational teaching,interactive teaching and inquiry teaching,enhance their speculative ability,increase humanistic spirit,and gradually develop towards multi-dimensional language ability.Reading is an important part of English curriculum,which needs to undertake the important task of cultivating learners’ thinking ability.Learners’ understanding and thinking about the textual meaning,cultural heritage,value orientation,social customs and other contents carried by English reading texts can improve their language ability and thinking ability in multiple dimensions.Therefore,English reading teaching has its irreplaceable advantages for the cultivation of learners’ thinking ability.However,there are some problems in the current English reading teaching model,such as paying too much attention to the complete and detailed explanation of vocabulary,repetitive grammar training,ignoring the discussion and communication of text values,separating reading teaching from context support,ignoring the emotional significance of articles to learners,ignoring the impact of different cultural backgrounds on learners and so on.In view of the above problems,this study takes the framework of inquiry community as the theoretical basis,uses literature research method,questionnaire survey method and quasi experimental research method to carry out the research,constructs a hybrid English reading teaching model based on inquiry community,and proves through teaching experiments that the teaching model can help teachers carry out systematic,highly interactive and highly situational English reading teaching,Meet the requirements of the College English teaching guide for the reading course to be speculative,interactive,humanistic and comprehensive.Firstly,this study takes the English reading teaching model as the research object,and puts forward the teaching model constructed under the guidance of the inquiry community theory.The teaching mode of English reading under the guidance of inquiry community theory is carried out in the way of mixed teaching,that is,the corresponding tasks are completed on the network learning platform before class,and the classroom teaching emphasizes the understanding and internalization of knowledge more.This model includes three stages: knowledge understanding,internalized communication and transfer creation.The three stages adopt the combination of online and offline teaching.Due to the different teaching effects achieved in each stage and the emphasis on the teaching strategies adopted,it is necessary to select the appropriate teaching strategies according to the specific teaching contents.Secondly,taking the course of Comprehensive English as a teaching research case,an experimental class and a control class are set up to carry out teaching experiments.The experimental class uses the hybrid English reading teaching mode proposed in this study to carry out teaching,expounds the three stages of teaching combined with specific reading texts,and analyzes the online and offline teaching activities in each stage.The knowledge understanding stage consists of three parts: background introduction,article understanding and text analysis;The internalization communication stage is gradually carried out through topic discussion,group construction and multiple analysis;Migration creation is gradually deepened through four parts: inquiry activities,teamwork,conclusion formation,evaluation and reflection.Finally,the learning effect is tested by stage performance,critical thinking scale and sense of presence scale.Comparing the learning results of learners in the experimental class and the control class,it is found that the reading performance,critical thinking level and sense of presence level of the experimental class have been significantly improved,which shows that the hybrid English reading teaching model proposed in this study can effectively improve learners’ English reading ability.To sum up,the systematic teaching model constructed in this study can improve the effect of reading teaching,promote learners’ thinking ability,basic language ability and teaching sense of water equality,adapt to the current reform of English reading teaching,and provide constructive reference for improving the effect of English reading teaching. |
