| It takes ten years to grow a tree,but a hundred years to cultivate a person.Teachers play an indispensable role in cultivating high-quality talents and promoting the development of education.English is not only a language,but also a carrier of thought,which always reflects the development direction of the times.Students’ knowledge of English should be updated with the changes of the times.Teachers need to help students establish a good knowledge network to improve students’ comprehensive English ability.Therefore,promoting the professional development of English teachers and cultivating high-quality professional English teachers has become one of the focuses in the field of education in the new era.Since the 1980 s,the concept of professional learning community has entered the vision of educational researchers.The cooperation and learning between teachers have once again become the emphasis of educational reform.Although there have always been teachers’ cooperative organizations such as teaching and research group and lesson preparation group in China’s basic education schools,there are some problems in the actual operation of these organizations due to the factors such as long existence,the solidification of organizational model and increasing pressure on teachers,which fail to give full play to the advantages of the teachers’ organizations and individuals.This research takes teachers’ professional development and teachers’ professional learning community as the research object.The researcher understands the current situation of English teachers’ cooperative organizations in Y Middle School in T City through the questionnaire survey.According to the characteristics of teachers’ professional learning community,this paper explores the problems existing in the traditional teachers’ cooperative organizations.And then analyzes the causes of the problems from three levels: individual teachers,teacher groups and school.Based on this,this paper discusses the role of teachers’ professional learning community in promoting the individual professional development of junior middle school English teachers and the group specialization of junior middle school English teachers.Finally,the researcher puts forward the implementable strategies of constructing junior middle school English teachers’ professional learning community from three aspects: school,individual teachers and teacher groups.This research adopts the research methods of literature research,questionnaire survey and theoretical analysis to study the subject.This research aims to improve the disadvantages of current teachers’ cooperative organizations and promote the professional development of junior middle school teachers by building a teachers’ professional learning community.It aims to help junior middle school English teachers better supplement their professional knowledge,improve their teaching level,give full play to their professional ability,broaden their professional development space and improve their initiative,so as to achieve the overall goal of promoting junior middle school English teachers’ professional development and improving students’ comprehensive English ability. |
