Buddhism is one of the three major religions in the world. Its thought is extensive and profound, and it is a precious cultural heritage of human society. As a very important classic in Buddhism and the general outline of Mahayana Buddhism,it was produced around the 1st century A.D.,the Vajra Sutra discusses that “all Buddhas and their Supreme-Enlightenment-Dharma originate from this sutra.” The Vajra Sutra contains the essence of Mahayana’s theory, which has a profound influence on the formation and development of China’s Buddhism, especially Zen thought. It is of great theoretical value to deeply study the main ideas contained in the Vajra Sutra. In this thesis, the author adopts the translation of master kyumorosh of the post Qin Dynasty as the blueprint, intercepts the thought of " no living " as the starting point, and makes an in-depth and detailed interpretation closely around the two main ideas of "no living in phase and generating a pure heart" and "no living in action and developing a Bodhi Heart".This article is divided into four parts. The first part mainly traces the source of Vajra Sutra and " no living ",mainly introduces the overview of the whole Sutra of Vajra Sutra and the interpretation of the thought of " no living ",focusing on the Prajna thought of " no living" and the internal relationship between " no living " and "living heart".The second part focuses on the theory of Prajna emptiness and righteousness of "living without phase and generating a pure heart".The author summarizes it into three aspects: the common phase in the world is false, worldly saints should not be persistent, and the separation from "Dharma phase" and "non-Dharma phase",focusing on highlighting "living without phase".The third part focuses on the spirit of "developing Bodhi Heart without living in action" in order to destroy all sentient beings.Because the origin of the Vajra Sutra is Subhuti asking the Buddha how to develop the "three contempt and three Bodhi Heart ",which is enough to reflect the spirit of Mahayana Buddhism’s compassion to measure the world and transform all sentient beings, and the methods of destroying all sentient beings are shown in the Sutra in three aspects:Prajna, giving and enduring humiliation. However, whether it is to develop the mind to destroy all living beings or to practice all good methods,it is carried out on the basis of "no living".Based on the Prajna thought of emptiness,it is reflected in the practice of all good methods without living in the bodhi mind,no living beings and "no living",focusing on highlighting "no living in wonderful actions".The fourth Part mainly introduces the influence of the Vajra Sutra on later Zen and the play of the "three no" thought for "no living" in the Tan Sutra.Since the Northern and Southern Dynasties, the theory of Buddha-nature rose and gradually stepped onto the stage of the history of Buddhist thought.Since then, the theory of Prajna and the theory of Buddha-nature have jointly built two theoretical foundations of Chinese Buddhism, and Zen came into being at the right moment, these two theories play a very important role in the formation and development of Zen.As the representative classic of Zen,Tan Sutra inherits and gives play to Vajra Sutra, realizing the perfect combination of Prajna emptiness and Buddha’s theory of Nirvana, and the integration and unity of "emptiness" and "being". |
