Research On Heart-mind Theory Of Liu Yuanqing

Liu Yuanqing(1544-1609),who styled himself as Tiaofu(or wrote as "Tiaofu")was born in An fu County in Jiangxi Province(today’s Lian hua County in Jiangxi Province).His initial literary name was Xuan yu and the later literary name was Lu xiao.He was known as the recruited gentleman or requisitioned gentleman for the imperial court had added conscription.Liu Yuanqing was an important representative of jiangyou Wangmen in the late Ming Dynasty.He was a pure scholar and was one of the spiritual leaders of the Wangmen school in Ji ’an,which was an important town of Wang school in Jiangxi province.Under the big background of the fusion of Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism in mid and late Ming dynasty,he was impressed by insulation and shielding thoughts of Taoism and Buddhism,nihilism and idealistic and Post-Confucian style with separation of body and function abuses appeared gradually.Out of reaction to these abuses,he regarded "One principle runs through it all" of Confucius as the ideological basis.At the same time,returned to school of "four terminal expansion" of Mencius,absorbed the theory of conscience,noumenon and congestive syncretism of Yangming school.Inheriting geng’s schools of "true machine is not allowed" and "learning has three links",affirmed human desire as human’s nature.From the perspective of the daily life ethics,he constructed his own comprehensive and systematic ideological system of mind with the core of "Benevolence can not be divided,form and performance can not be divided",and the ideological framework of Distinguishing will,virtue,sincerity,affinity to the people,cultivation of integrity and governance of peace.In the history of Chinese traditional Confucianism,he is a real person who returns to the orthodox thought of Confucian.The officer time of Liu Yuanqing was very short.He was committed to giving brain wave lectures in his hometown for a long time and he was one of the leaders of Jiang Xi An fu lecturing in the late Ming dynasty.He had built three lecturing academy including benevolence academy,general benevolence academy and tathagata hall successively.The built of three academy making teaching implementation in the local village,more down-to-earth and more in-depth grassroots.Achieved close contact with the local clan,which made many local people enthusiastically participate in lectures.It had also played the role of folk custom,had a very important impact on the development of culture and education and had made a great contribution for the hometown.
