On The Application Of Dramatic Narrative Structure In Script Creation

Drama is an effective way to tell stories.Dramatic narration usually includes plot,characters,theme,language,scene,structure and other elements.Dramatic structure,being internal structure and organization of dramatic works,makes mainly arrangements on story plot.‘ Inter act drama’ structure and ‘ Play-within-a-play’ structure are two typical narrative techniques which play important roles in connecting the contexts and deepening the theme in the plot narrative.The former explains the story and is usually arranged between acts,and the latter is mixed with relative drama stories or events.Nowadays,the two structure are rarely used at the same time and the narrative function of‘inter act drama’ structure and the narrative aesthetic value of ‘Play-within-a-play’structure are rarely mentioned,which leaves room for discrimination and thinking.From the perspective of narrative,this paper discusses and studies the aesthetic value of‘Inter act drama’and‘Play-within-a-play’in the three-act drama Torrent As a dark scene between acts.‘Inter act drama’has narrative aesthetic values such as space-time transformation,layout setting,drama rhythm and so on;The ‘ Play-within-a-play ’ shows its aesthetic significance in the narrative of the whole play from the plot,characters,themes and other aspects;In addition,based on these two kinds of drama structure narration,the author comprehensively combs and explains the theme definition,characterization and plot setting of the whole drama.The author believes that‘Inter act drama’plays the same role as each act drama in dividing time,replacing place and strengthening rhythm,and its narrative status in plays should be improved.As an important narrative structure of drama,‘ Play-within-a-play’ plays an important role in bridging the gap,promoting the development of the plot,shaping characters and deepening the theme of drama.This paper will conduct a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of the structure of‘Inter act drama’and‘Play-within-a-play’,aiming to put forward new ideas and new methods for the application of dramatic narrative structure in script creation.This paper consists of three chapters.The first chapter focuses on the application and aesthetic value of‘Inter act drama’in the drama Torrent;The second chapter focuses on the application and aesthetic significance of ‘ Play-within-a-play’ in the drama Torrent;The third chapter summarizes and reflects on the creation of dramatic structure narrative in the drama Torrent.
