| Pragmatic competence is an important reference index to measure the real language competence of second language learners,but compared with the foreign language teaching community,the Chinese teaching community has not paid enough attention to this aspect,and there are not many relevant research results.The comprehensiveness and scientific nature of measurement has always been a weak link in pragmatic research in Chinese teaching.Therefore,this paper adopts a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods,through theoretical construction,analyzes the components and specific contents of Chinese learners’ pragmatic competence,and according to the concept of each factor and its corresponding refined connotation and extension,this paper combined the questionnaires of Wang Meiling(2010),Chen Jingxi(2012)and Fan Xiangjuan,Liu Jianda(2017),and according to the principle of component-item matching,using the Multiple Choice Discourse Testing(MDCT)method to develop a pragmatic proficiency measurement tool for Chinese learners in Thailand.Through the testing and analysis of the questionnaires,a questionnaire that can comprehensively and objectively reflect the pragmatic competence of Chinese learners in Thailand is developed,thereby making up for the insufficient description of pragmatic competence at the theoretical level in previous studies and the lack of scientificity in the investigation process..According to the research results,it is found that the questionnaire can truly measure the pragmatic competence of Thai Chinese learners.After analyzing the survey results,the following findings are drawn: 1.Although Thai Chinese learners generally have pragmatic competence,their overall level is not high,and the internal differences are very significant;2.The performance on the pragmatic level is better than that on the pragmatic behavior level,and in the pragmatic knowledge level,the language pragmatic knowledge ability is better than the social pragmatic knowledge ability.This finding is contrary to the previous researchers;3.Thai Chinese learners The development of pragmatic competence is not synchronized at the level of pragmatic comprehension and pragmatic expression;4.In the research on the influencing factors of pragmatic competence of Chinese learners in Thailand,it is found that major,Chinese proficiency,and learning time are the most important factors affecting the pragmatic competence of Chinese learners in Thailand.However,the positive effects of Chinese proficiency and study time on learners’ pragmatic ability are not absolute. |
