Zhi Dun is not only a famous monk, but also a famous scholar. He is the key point between metaphysical aesthetics and Zen aesthetics. With the academic background of simultaneous cultivation of metaphysics and Buddhism,Zhi Dun helped Buddha read Zhuang and explained Buddhism with Zhuang, and put forward "standpoint of freedom" and "emptiness of matter".The natural aesthetics and personality aesthetics contained in it not only injected fresh blood into metaphysical aesthetics, but also promoted the spread of Buddhist thought and the advent of Zen aesthetics.Taking Zhi Dun’s aesthetic thought as the research direction,on the basis of previous studies, this paper makes a more in-depth exploration of the aesthetic freedom, personality aesthetics, landscape aesthetics and nature concept embodied in Zhi Dun’s "standpoint of freedom" and "emptiness of matter" from three aspects of poetry, thought and history,so as to clarify the connotation and significance of Zhi Dun’s aesthetic thought. The first chapter is the introduction. This part systematically arranges the research status of Zhi Dun at home and abroad from five aspects: aesthetics、literature、philosophy、life and works, and briefly explains the research ideas, research methods and innovation points. The second chapter takes Zhi Dun’s new standpoint of freedom as the starting point, and shows Zhi Dun’s carefree aesthetic personality by analyzing his life stories.Zhi Dun had no original intention to reconcile nature with Xiang and Guo’s famous teachings. He only devoted himself to nature to achieve lofty and broad freedom. Therefore,he advocated that there was no need to be free and unfettered. On the basis of Zhuangzi’s "zhi ren" 、 "shen ren" and "sheng ren",he strongly advocated that the "zhi ren" realm was a truly free and unfettered state.Zhi Dun,who advocated this state, bought mountains and retreated, toured mountains and rivers, raised horses and released cranes, showing the personality aesthetics of no desire and enough, which is a model of personality aesthetics in the Wei and Jin Dynasties. The third chapter mainly analyzes the nature concept in Zhi Dun’s " emptiness of matter" from two aspects."The emptiness of matter " is the product of the intersection of Zhi Dun’s metaphysical and Buddhist thoughts.Under the cloak of color space relationship,Zhi Dun’s understanding and thinking of all things in nature. On the one hand,Zhi Dun believes that the color space is the same,so nature is also ethereal in this. Therefore, the subject’s attention to nature is aesthetic. The "shen lang" and "xuan chang" experienced by the subject in the supreme reason and Avenue are the aesthetic feelings of nature. On the other hand,Zhi Dun believes that color is different from emptiness,so nature has become a specific phenomenon. The subject understands reason through nature and is felt by the color of nature.Under the innovation of material feeling experience, nature has become a pure aesthetic object.Based on Zhi Dun’s literary works, the fourth chapter analyzes the landscape aesthetics thought expressed in his poetry.Zhidun’s landscape aesthetics can be seen from the view of tour and understanding.Tour view is an organizational form of language description of scenery according to the change of whereabouts and vision. The method of tour view melts the separation between man and natural landscape. It is not only a new angle provided by Zhidun for man to view natural landscape, but also his innovation of landscape aesthetics in the Wei and Jin Dynasties.Understanding reason is exactly the aesthetic observation of the reasonable landscape in the tour view after the subject is separated from the landscape.Viewing the landscape is understanding reason, and the subject obtains a pure aesthetic feeling and realizes the beauty of the landscape.
