The Emotional Expression Of Dramatic Characters In Characterization

Guizhou Hua Deng opera,as a small type of opera,has made great progress in recent years,especially with the emergence of some representative plays and famous artists.However,along with the continuous improvement of Guizhou Hua Deng opera,the practitioners and researchers have found the inadequate theoretical system of Guizhou Hua Deng opera,with relatively single and superficial performance procedures.Especially in terms of emotional expression,it is lacking induction and excavation.Drama is a comprehensive stagecraft,with the main means of expression as the performance of actors.The dramatic role is the fountainhead,while characterization is the process,both of them intend to demonstrate the function,state,role and emotional expression of the dramatic work to the audiences.Among them,the emotional expression is the most important,only the audience can empathize with the character by the emotional expression,which could achieve the effect of entering the play and conveying the theme.Therefore,it is urgent to explore the emotional expression of theatrical characters in characterization for the further enhancement of Guizhou Hua Deng opera.Since I am a student of Ms.Shao Zhiqing,a famous artist of Guizhou Hua Deng opera,I had studied on the familiar topic of mainfemale role profession,which combined my rich practical experiences on stage with theories related to the vocal performance,drama,and psychology by communication,repertoire observation,music appreciation with Shao Zhiqing.Meanwhile,using Mr.Shao Zhiqing’s representative roles-Liu Hehe(Moonlight at Mallow Forest),Tian Jinghua(Salt Road),Tao Chunyun(All the Way with Fragrance),and Jiang Jie(Red Plum Praise)as the material,it is mainly divided into five chapters to explore.In the Chapter 1,the research value and the significance of Guizhou Hua Deng opera was emphasized from the research background of the emotional expression of dramatic roles in characterization and the views of relevant experts.In the Chapter 2,the four main emotional expressions of the role of mainfemale role were mainly elaborated,namely,the sense of responsibility as the emotional keynote,the selflessness as the emotional essence,the tolerance as the emotional sublimation and the firmness as the emotional characteristics.In the Chapter 3,taken Jiang Jie in Guizhou’s Hua Deng opera-Red Plum Praise as the object of study,the three main emotional characteristics of mainfemale role’s characterization were elucidated,and its specific relationships were explored with characterization by means of emotional progression,emotional setting and emotional contrast,which was further explored from four aspects: the causes of emotional expression,the characteristics of emotional expression,the form of emotional expression and the personality of emotional expression.In the Chapter 4,the influence on the characterization of "Singing,reciting,acting and dancing","Hand,eye,body,technique and footwork",and "Costume,prop and cosmetics" was explored by focusing on the opera itself and the stage art,which showed that the characterization could help to complete the performance of the role by the means of the drama program and the stage.In Chapter 5,the role of Liu Hehe was taken in Moonlight at Mallow Forest as an example,the actors’ handling of emotions were analyzed by portraying the character.From the above five chapters,I would try to make up for the deficiencies in the study of the expression of emotions in the mainfemale role profession of Guizhou Hua Deng opera what I have learned,which made the progresses on the improvement work.Moreover,it is my duty as the descendant of Shao School.Importantly,it would provide the certain support and reference for the further research on the mainfemale role profession of Guizhou Hua Deng opera as well as the related exploration of other professions in the article,so that Guizhou Hua Deng opera,an art what I love,can achieve the better development and results in the new era.
