Copper mirrors and screens,used as household goods in ancient China,are closely related to people’s lives.At the earliest,the bronze mirror as a ceremonial device to participate in ancient sacrificial activities,and because it can reflect light,it has also been given the function of "exorcism".Later,the copper mirror was used for dressing up.Screens,originally called "mansions’ ’,were placed behind thrones in ancient celestial sacrifices,shielded from light or displayed indoors to reveal the identity of the host.In the development of traditional Chinese painting,mirrors and screens are attached to the characters in the painting,which plays a certain role in the artist’s representation of space and images.Taking Mirror Gardens as the starting point,this paper combs and analyzes the works of mirror or screen in traditional painting,and probes into the spatial expressive methods.The first chapter discusses the spatial expression of mirror and screen in traditional painting.Firstly,it briefly combs the emergence,development and decorative modeling of ancient Chinese mirrors and screens,and describes the humanistic value.Secondly,by analyzing the typical works with mirrors and screens in traditional paintings,this paper interprets the picture information from the image and studies its effect on the spatial expression formed in the painting.The second chapter takes mirror garden group painting practice as the theme,explains the emotional origin and process of group painting creation,discusses systematically from four aspects: intention,material research,space combination and management position,expression of gray call color artistic conception.In the layout of spatial location,through the reference of the function of "constructing virtual space" or "compartmentalizing and composing space" in the mirror and screen of traditional painting,this paper probes into the spatial expressive mode that suits his own creative emotion.In the use of gray color,mainly from traditional painting inspiration,after time oxidation of the calm color will be used in the creative artistic expression.The third chapter talks about the inspiration of Mirror Gardens group painting practice,and through the reflection of its own shortcomings at this stage,summarizes the aspects that need to be adjusted and studied more in the future,and determines the future creative direction to continue to explore.
