Research On Lu Weizhao’s Official Script

Lu Weizhao(1899-1980),as a pioneer of Chinese higher calligraphy education,made great contributions to the development of Chinese calligraphy education and trained many excellent calligraphers in China,such as Zhu Guantian,Wang Dongling,Qiu Zhenzhong,Zhu Suizhi,Chen Zhenlian and so on.He is proficient in seal script,especially official script.His official script creation,on the basis of inheriting traditional calligraphy,can achieve the intersection and integration of ancient and modern calligraphy,absorb the works of different styles of previous dynasties,and extract the most personalized classics for my use.In the mid-1960 s,as Lu Weizhao’s official script style became more and more mature,and his "flat body" emerged as a shocking works in the literary world.It can be said that the "flat body" condenses Lu Weizhao’s artistic skills and wisdom.It is an excellent example of integrating tradition and determination to create a new one.It is refreshing in words,structure,composition and spiritual temperament.This paper,which is divided into three chapters,conducts the study by combining with work charts,image analysis,literature analysis and other methods.The first chapter is an overview of Lu Weizhao’s learning path of official script,which is combed from two aspects: making friends in his life and the concept of the ancient times.The concept of the ancient times is discussed from four aspects: learning through the ancient and modern times,integrating the inscriptions and calligraphy,blending all calligraphy and moral knowledge.The second chapter compounds Lu Weizhao’s artistic practice and the formation of artistic ideas,and starts from his artistic practice,artistic achievements and ideas,and the analysis of the creative phenomenon that large character official script does not make "flat body".And Lu Weizhao’s artistic practice of official script is discussed from pure official script works and "flat body" official script works by using charts,Lu Weizhao’s artistic achievements and ideas of official script are analyzed from building the foundation of Han stele,strengthening the North stele,using seal script,and cursive rhyme.The creative phenomenon that Lu Weizhao’s large character official script is not "flat body" is analyzed and studied from Lu Weizhao’s cognitive and aesthetic height,flexible learning and application,and being able to understand the past and the present.The third chapter explains the enlightenment of Lu Weizhao’s official script to the current calligraphy creation,especially in view of the disadvantages of the "exhibition style",the author reveals the practical meaning of current calligraphers to learn from Lu Weizhao from "handy and combination of hands and hearts","unique and different from people","spirit of the times and ancient innovation".
