Three Gorges Literature In Wei Jin Southern And Northern Dynasties

Three Gorges Literature refers to the literature that directly or indirectly expresses the natural environment,local customs,politics and military,traditional culture and history of the Three Gorges region.It is jointly created by indigenous and nonlocal writers.The study of Three Gorges literature is an important sub subject of regional literature research,but at present,the study of Three Gorges literature does not pay enough attention to the Wei Jin northern and Southern Dynasties.This paper mainly compiles and studies the literature of this period,combs its development process and analyzes its literary characteristics.First of all,there are many works of the Three Gorges literature in the Wei Jin southern and Northern Dynasties.From the Three Gorges Annals to the contemporary era,the collation of the Three Gorges Literature’s works has achieved fruitful results,but there are also some deficiencies,such as single genre,incomplete cataloguing,serious repetition,lax textual research and so on.On the basis of previous achievements,this paper has a new collection of 135 texts,including poetry and prose,geodetic record,philosophical work and history,stone carving of Wei Jin Southern and Northern Dynasties.It also makes a detailed textual research on the works with disputes over authenticity and the ownership of the author,Dynasty and region,so as to have a comprehensive understanding of the original appearance of the Three Gorges Literature in this period as far as possible.Secondly,the Three Gorges Literature experienced three development climaxes,including the Jin and Song Dynasties,the Qi and Liang dynasties and the late Northern Wei Dynasty,with writers outside the gorge as the main force of creation.In the Jin and Song Dynasties,because the guest writers crossed the south,marched to the West and guarded the land to the Three Gorges,there were phenomena such as the hope of the literati for the rise of the dynasty,the leisurely travel of the aides,the visit of the expeditionary generals to nostalgia,and the support and management of the prefecture officials in writing geodetic record.The scenery of the Three Gorges was favored.In the Qi and Liang dynasties,the literati group with the royal family as the core promoted the creation.At the same time,members of the literati group "chanted on the same topic" and integrated the images and themes of the Three Gorges into the gorgeous "cultural matrix" of the court,creating a number of Yuefu Poems with similar forms,contents and emotions.In the late Northern Wei Dynasty,Li Daoyuan emphasized the personalized travel process,widely cited the previous generation of documents and materials of the Three Gorges,polished and enriched them.Based on the records of the Jin and Song Dynasties,he wrote a landscape travel prose of "precipitous,clean and deep",depicting a magnificent,vast and unique map of the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River.Its composition and meaningful sentences became the model of poetry and prose of the Three Gorges in later generations.Finally,the Three Gorges Literature in the Wei Jin southern and Northern Dynasties has its unique content and genre.Firstly,under the influence of affectionate fashion at that time,typical images such as sad gorge apes(filial son ape,kind mother ape,heartbroken ape),resentful concubine and the amorous goddess of Wushang,which responded to the era aesthetics of "taking sadness as beauty".Secondly,the classic theme of the difficulty of Shu roads in the Three Gorges not only promoted the birth of the Yuefu poem title of "the difficulty of Shu roads",but also inspired different people to sigh about the difficulty of wandering,meritorious service and founding the country,as well as people’s struggle spirit eager to eliminate the difficulty of Shu roads through myths and filial piety stories.Thirdly,literature reproduces the three Gorges regional folk customs,which are mainly manifested in the different customs of the Liao people in Shu,the cave worship of the Ba people and the worship of Qu Yuan of the Chu people.Fourthly,BA-YU Dance in the Three Gorges has become elegant because it meets the needs of the Central Plains to show the national prestige.Fifthly,the spiritual stone inscriptions of the Three Gorges embody the idea of good harvest and peace in the world,which is the guide for the stone inscriptions of the Three Gorges river.In a word,the Three Gorges provides unique geographical conditions for the emergence of the Three Gorges Literature,and the Three Gorges Literature shapes the Three Gorges into a real cultural geographical space.
