A Study On Alienation Phenomenon Of Reproduction In Hollywood Science Fiction Films Since The 1970s

Reproduction is not only a physiological function of human beings,but also a cultural and social phenomenon.In the pre-modern period,reproductive activity was a secret experience that belonged to women and could not be discussed openly.Modern medicine and biotechnology disenchanted the originally mysterious and closed reproductive process.Intervention before modern reproductive technology,reproductive dissimilation phenomenon more embodied in the rejection of the alien force,while the abuse and misuse of reproductive technology has resulted in the research and development of the technology from its original intention and to users of the technology and social damage,caused the reproductive dissimilation phenomenon in modern society,the typical dissimilation phenomena including iatrogenic multiple births,sex selection and design of baby.This situation has been concretely demonstrated and diversified extended in science fiction films.The phenomenon of reproductive alienation presents a rich and bold visual image in science fiction films,while science fiction films generally embody a concept of taking technology as creativity,which is intrinsically consistent with the reproductive activities "as the production of human beings" proposed by Engels.This paper will take cultural research criticism and content analysis as the main methods,combined with genre film theory and scientific and technological ethical criticism to explore,and try to distinguish the phenomenon of reproductive alienation in Hollywood science fiction films in the ethical environment.First of all,combining the history of technology and image,this paper reviews the evolution of reproductive alienation from the perspective of reproductive technology and image.Secondly,combined with genre film theory,this paper explores the expression forms and related ethical issues of reproductive alienation in Hollywood classic science fiction films since the 1970 s.Thirdly,combined with the ethical criticism of science and technology,the ethical situation provided in the film and the reflection of the appeal of ethical expression connected with science and technology and cultural environment.Fourth,the limitations and possibilities of the conception of reproductive technology in science fiction films will be prospected.
