The Form And Function Of Film Narrator

Film narrator refers to the personified or institutionalized film speaker who is engaged in narration and engraved in the text.It is the spokesman of the real author in the text world.Narrator is an important term of narratology.Film narrator draws lessons from and transits from novel narrator.After decades of development,it has established its dominant position in the study of film narratology.On this basis,the author puts forward various forms of film narrator,focuses on the unique language system of film,and excavates the functional characteristics of film narrator,Taking director Zhang Yang’s works as an example,this paper explores how the character identity behind the diversified narrative strategies of the film narrator participates,intervenes and changes to the film narrative,so as to systematically excavate the form and function of the film narrator.This paper will be divided into the following parts: the first chapter is the introduction,which shows the research significance of this paper and puts forward the research ideas and methods by combing the research status of film narrators.The second chapter distinguishes the distinction between similar terms such as real author,implied author,narrator and viewpoint in narratology,and clearly locates the independence and irreplaceable of narrator.The third chapter combs the transition from novel narrator to film narrator,the inheritance of film narrator and the uniqueness of film narrator.The fourth chapter discusses the multiple forms of the narrator.After summarizing the forms of the narrator,the author focuses on the functional characteristics of the film narrator in the fifth chapter,and summarizes the image positioning of the film narrator.the author analyzes the image of the narrator,so as to provide reference for the diversified use of the narrator in narratology in the future.In the conclusion,it discusses the diversified guidance of the film narrator to the practice and the guiding role of the author’s creation.
