Study On The Function Of Poetry Literature In Western Jin Dynasty

The fierce political game and the turbulent society made the bureaucrats and scholars of the Western Jin Dynasty travel frequently,which gave birth to a large number of Sacrifice banquets.also the social atmosphere of pleasure made the Western Jin scholars open banquets.These banquets not only nourish a large number of Western Jin Dynasty banquet poems,but also make the banquet poems of this period have prominent characteristics.From the perspective of literary function,on the one hand,the Western Jin Dynasty inherited the entertainment spirit of banquet poetry since the pre-Qin and Han Wei dynasties,with the entertainment function of entertaining guests and themselves;On the other hand,when the Western Jin poets used the communication function of banquet poetry,with the mentality of pursuing talent,fame and wealth,which added a strong utilitarian color to their poems.Therefore,the banquet poems of this period showed some different styles.The scenes of the banquet,as well as the feeling of the poet,were no longer the focus of the poet.Instead,the ancestors described the history of the Western Jin Dynasty,and the words praising the hosts and guests of the banquet occupied a lot of space.Such a mentality naturally reflects the artistic tendency of banquet poetry.The poet adopted the four-character poetry style,which makes the poem more elegant.The grand system of imitating the Book of Songs makes the poem more solemn,and caters to the Confucian ethos advocated by the power.Moreover,the with allusions and complicated description are also popular.This excessive pursuit of poetic art forms often makes the content of poems is complex but has little meaning,which are mostly criticized by people,but promotes the progress of poetic skills to a certain extent.This paper is starting from the perspective of literary function,from the reasons for the prosperity of banquet poetry in the Western Jin Dynasty,the entertainment and utility of its content,and the related artistic expression,aiming to have a more comprehensive understanding of the Western Jin banquet poetry.
