The UK ‘at Risk’ :A Corpus Approach to Historical Social Change 1785–2009 is based on the news reports of The Times from 1785 to 2009.Combining corpus tools with sociological analysis, this paper adopts corpus method to study language phenomena related to "risk",and analyzes how "risk" has become a decisive feature of Britain and expanded into the social field. It has important reference value for linguistics, sociology and the cross research between them. There is no Chinese translation of this book in the domestic market. At the same time, this book is a typical academic text.It is of high reference value to summarize and analyze the types and distribution of errors in the translation of this kind of text by machine translation system, and explore the methods of error correction,so as to improve the translation of academic texts and optimize the translation performance of machine translation system for texts in specific fields. In this translation practice report, the second chapter of the book is translated by post-translation editing method, and errors in machine translation are marked and investigated, and the main types of machine translation errors are summarized, which can be divided into linguistic errors and non-linguistic errors.Language-like errors are errors in vocabulary, sentences and discourse.Non-linguistic errors mainly include the translation of language examples in the original text that don’t need to be translated, and the translation of non-English components into English, etc.,which have received little attention from predecessors. The same error types are subdivided into small categories, such as redundant translation of articles, pronouns, category words and other specific types of errors.Combined with cases, the characteristics of different types of errors and their revision methods are summarized and analyzed.
