| Chinese decorative pattern art has a long history.It is not only the external material expression of ethnic culture,but also an evolutionary form of illustrating the essence of Chinese culture with traditional visual language with its fast-changing development.Decorative patterns show people’s daily life,customs and cultural inheritance in various periods,and they’re even the confirmation of historical development track.The Tang Dynasty is one of the most open and compatible dynasties in Chinese history.It could not only contain thousands of different foreign cultures,but also integrate and make them part of itself.The peony decorative pattern studied in this paper is one of the most representative decorative patterns in the Tang Dynasty and has been widely used because of its unique modeling and rich artistic characteristics.To some extent,it is not only the witness of historical development,but also the continuation of culture.Taking the artistic application of peony decorative patterns in Tang Dynasty as the main research object,this paper uses literature collection,typological comparison,image study and field survey as its main research methods,respectively listing the artistic expressions of peony decorative patterns on brocade,bronze mirror,gold and silver ware and ceramics of Tang Dynasty,with the studied historical period divided into the Early Tang,the High Tang and the After-mid-late Tang.It systematically summarizes the peony decorative patterns in Tang Dynasty,deeply explores and experiences the rich life atmosphere and unique art style of Tang Dynasty;it makes innovative transformation with modern way of thinking,combining theory with practice,to re-examine and explain them with visual aesthetics.In recent years,Chinese traditional art and culture has attracted much attention,and the excavation and promotion of traditional art and culture has become a hot spot and even a trend of society.By discussing the aesthetic expression and artistic concept of peony decorative patterns of Tang Dynasty with Chinese traditional cultural characteristics,it not only fully reflects its diversified artistic styles and profound cultural connotation,but also enriches our new understanding of the different expressions of people’s customs and aesthetic implication in Tang Dynasty.This not only promoted the traditional peony decorative art of Tang Dynasty in terms of breadth and effectiveness,but also facilitated the inheritance and development of traditional decorative art and provided new inspiration for modern design. |
